What a tremendous Wimbledon final we were treated to once again. I agree that Roddick would have at least 3 GS titles if he were playing in any other decade rather then in the Federer era. I know it is impossible, but if you could switch him and Jim Courier, I think Roddick would have won 3 GS titles (2 US and 1 Wimbledon perhaps) in the early 90's and instead of 4 GS titles (2 French and 2 Aussie), Courier would probably only win 1 or 2 now (as he wouldn't beat Nadal at the French). Roddick's birthdate has certainly kept him from taking more GS titles.
My co-host Paul posed the following question following Sunday's epic 5 set Wimbledon final in which Roger Federer garnered his record 15th Grand Slam title over American Andy Roddick: is Andy Roddick a tragic figure in men's tennis? As an A-Rod apologist I could have easily claimed yes and bemoaned ...

Rethinking Andy Roddick
Even though I always wanted him to win, I’ve often been harsh on Andy Roddick in the past, accusing him of not trying hard enough, and that he was more concerned with being a celebrity than a top-level tennis player. I was wrong. Roddick proved that today, with a hard-fought loss to Federer in the Wimbledon final. Andy stretched the match as far as possible, when...
Questionable Poses: Roger Federer
Roger Federer is the greatest men's tennis champion of all-time, but his recent pre- and post match wardrobe has been questionable. Sure, Nike has high hopes for their new RF line but I suggest they can the Buckingham Palace guard like sweatsuit, its not working.Fan of No Guts, No Glory? How History Would Paint Roddick If Federer Didn't Exist
The way a tennis player will be remembered in the fabrics of history is defined by a single numeric, total majors won. People will quickly forget your close calls, how many times you managed to make it to the semifinals or quarterfinals of a major, and point directly to the number 1. They will certainly ignore the lesser tournament victories like defeating Dudi Sela to take home...
Is Roddick’s Loss to Federer The Most Devastating Sports Loss This Century?
Andy Roddick took Roger Federer to the limit. He appeared at times on the verge of a career-defining victory. But, by literally the slimmest of margins, Roddick lost. He faced the best, gave his greatest effort and was not good enough. It will affect his legacy. The difference between victory and defeat is soul-crushing. Could [...]

Grand Slams: Federer Wins Fifteen
Words By Patrick M.
I’m not sure when Hip-Hop became an adjective (Can someone consult the OED for me?). But I am sure that if Gotty, KRS-ONe, Scarface, Snoop (the rapper) and Snoop (aka Felicia Pearson) were brainstorming a list of the least “Hip-Hop,” things in this world, tennis, Roger Federer and Wimbledon would be battling [...]

The Wimbledon Finals Surely Did Not Disappoint
When Rafael Nadal proclaimed two weeks ago that he was not going to be healthy enough to defend his crown, the wind was severely taken out of Wimbledon's sails. No longer could Wimbledon offer the amazing 5-set final between Nadal and Federer. No longer would Federer need to get over the Nadal hurdle to win his record 15th major. Everything seemed to line up towards Federer destroying...
