USTA Ditches Gimelstob For Sexist Comments

Gimelstob was terrible from the beginning, but the several comments about Kournikova are what finally got him in trouble. Not only did he call her a bitch and a scumbag, he said he wanted to hit her so hard with a volley that she'd cry and leave the court humiliated, he said he was going to serve at 127 m.p.h. right into her midrift, and he also commented about wanting to his brother have sex with her. F-ing gross, dude.

But there's more: He's made sexual comments about the body of Nicole Vaidisova and called other female players - players still in their teens! - "sexpots." These are comments he's made to press, but he's also made similar comments on TV!!!

This ain't the spice tennis wants.

That said, I've seen Gimelstob play and he's abso-friggin'-lutley hysterical. Saw him in NYC and he told his own mom to Shut the F--- Up!

Hmm... As a woman I think he crossed the line. He has the right to feel any way he wants and think any way he wants, about whomever he wants - for sure. But as someone in a professional capacity he needs to keep that sh-t to himself. Or, at least, tame his comments a bit. You can be spicy and still not launch a full out attack.
