World No. 5 Andy Roddick will take on Frenchman Marc Gicquel in the second round of the US Open later on tonight. The match will be the second night match on the Arthur Ashes Stadium court. Roddick has been in superb form over the last few months, the American reached the final of Wimbledon in July before losing an epic showdown to World No. 1 Roger Federer 16-14 in the fifth set. The former world No. 1 took the tennis world by storm back in 2003, that year he won the Masters Series Events in Montreal and Cincinnati and followed this up by winning the US Open, that triumph remains Roddick's only Grand Slam title to date. Roddick will be hoping that he can maintain his great form against Gicquel today as he desperately seeks his second Grand Slam title. Three years ago Roddick also reached the final at Flushing Meadow however on that occasion he also lost to Federer in four sets.
