Roger Federer was already in the history books as one of the best, if not the best tennis player of all time but, after winning his 7th Wimbledon title on Sunday and this 17th Grand Slam title, there’s no question that he’s like the Michael Jordan of tennis, best ever!

Federer dashed Andy Murray’s hopes of becoming the first Brit to win at Wimbledon since 1936 after playing like a true Swiss maestro to complete a 4-6 7-5 6-3 6-4 win in the final. With this win, Federer equaled Pete Sampras’ record of seven titles at Wimbledon and returned to the number one spot in ATP rankings to overtake Sampras in career total of 286 weeks as world no.1.

Roger has held the number one spot for 285 weeks, but has not been ranked no.1 since May 2010. He never stopped believing and now, at 30, he became the first man in his 30s to win a Grand Slam title since Andre Agassi in 2003.
