via http://www.screened.com/ According to The Times in the United Kingdom, Maria Sharapova is going to put her money where her mouth is for the upcoming U.S. Open. The 26-year old is changing her surname to Sugarpova for the two-week duration of the US Open to the line of candy she launched in 2012. Sharapova has sought the name change through the Supreme Court of Florida.  Her name would revert back to Sharapova following the U.S. Open. It’s believed that she may need permission of the tennis grand slam committee. The candy makes up a very small piece of the wealth of Sharapova, the richest female athlete in the world.  According to Forbes, Sharapova was the highest-paid female athlete in the world during the year to June, earning $29 million from prize money, endorsements and appearances. Sharapova spent $548,000 setting up Sugarpova, featuring colored candies with flavors such as Smitten Sour, Quirky and Sporty (as if anyone knows what quirky or sporty tastes like).  Maria is also expected to dawn a pair of red lips, the Sugarpova symbol, on her clothing during the tournament. Count me in as looking forward to wear the lips will be placed.
