Beyonce is currently 31 years old, and no one watching the 2013 Super Bowl halftime show would have even thought about calling her “over the hill” or “too old” for what she was doing.

However, the so-called “experts” continue to label the 31-year-old Serena Williams as exactly that.

At the French Open, Serena once again quieted all critics and proved why she may just be the best female to ever grace a tennis court — she is now the reigning French Open, Wimbledon, U.S. Open and Olympic ladies singles Champion, after all.

Once the tournament was all said and done, Beyonce penned this nice letter to Serena. It is letting her know, from one 31-year-old celeb to another, just how big of an inspiration Williams is to millions of little girls and grown women worldwide.

Granted, we don’t know whether the note was actually ever delivered to Serena. Beyonce simply posted it onto the “news” section of her website and may have just called it a day. Either way, it’s a pretty classy move.

H/T to Deadspin.

  • why would anyone care what Beyoncé would have to say? she visited Cuba calling it educational and it was nothing but a vacation. She is a first rate liar and a cheat.
  • If you did not care, why would you respond? Jealously and envy are not good traits to desire, so get rid of it through prayer. Your class will show thru what you say after prayer. Try love and acceptance regardless of race or class.
  • You are such an idiot
  • "Beyonce is currently 31 years old, and no one watching the 2013 Super Bowl halftime show would have even thought about calling her “over the hill” or “too old” for what she was doing.

Yes, because everyone knows singing a 90 minute concert requires exactly the same skills and stamina as playing 3 or 4 sets of tennis at the pro level.

Do these people ever proof read what they write?
  • Your rude behavior is exceeded here only by your ignorance. Performing in a concert for 90 minutes, as you suggest, is every bit as physically grueling/taxing as playing 3 or 4 sets of tennis! Obviously you are not aware of the physical preparation involved in performing in a concert! And, when we're talking specifically about Beyoncé, it's not like she comes out on stage and plants her feet in one single spot, staying there the rest of the performance! Beyoncé puts on one HECKUVA show, and whether you like her or not, you have to give her props for going all-out and giving audiences her best every time she steps out on stage!
  • I congratulate both women for what they do for entertainment and particularly for their genius. Serena is only doing what she obviously came on the planet to do. Her truth is obviously to be her best. Beyonce is very big hearted. She is a great person as Serena is. Continue the excellent work Beyonce, Serena, and Venus.God bless you all.
  • Martina Navratilova was still kicking ass well into her 30s. Not to put Serena on the same level as Martina (one of the greastest female athletes ever), too soon to tell. Serena still has some years left to make that comparison, but she's definitely not over the hill.
  • I love it that talkbackammie went racial! The only indicator of race was the word "stunt" in the note, which I am guessing is some sort of ebonics. After accessing (appropriately enough) urbandictionary.com, I came up with this:

    50 cent's Stunt 101 lyrics (chorus):

I'll teach you how to stunt
    My wrists stay rocked up
My TV's pop up in a Maybach benz
I'll teach you how to stunt
    Niger you can't see me
My bently GT got smoke gray tints
I'll teach you how to stunt
My neck stay blinging, my rims stay gleaming, I'm shining man
I'll teach you how to stunt
I see you scheming, ***** keep on dreaming, I hurt ya mans
I'll teach you how to stunt

So yes, it was a racially motivated note miss Beyonce (forgive me as I do not know how to access the accent for that final "e") forwarded to Serena, and like a foreigner refusing to speak English in social settings where the dominant language is English, Beyonce (forgive me again) purposefully chose to "go there". Its not only us "crackers" who can be racist, you know!

Interestingly, 50 Cent's song here is incredibly demeaning of women, and is certainly where Beyonce (forgive me again) learned the term "stunt".

    All my love and respect,

    Jeff
  • Actually, Beyonce really, really misuses the term "stunt". I was doing her a favor by allowing her to apply the word to athleticism. It really should be applied to themes dealing in wealth and finances (urbandictionary.com), not sports.

    I'm just saying...

Forgive me, I minored in English.
  • Have you ever seen what Beyoncé packs into a 90 concert?? It would be wise that you just not comment the next time a story is written about her.
  • I would never waste the money to go to such a concert. It's pretty devoid of anything that truly enhances life. I do, however, congratulate you on the "e". What might her real name be though? It is undeniable, though, that she has a racist (anti-white) slant, beginning with the very first word of her letter. She ovbiously picked it up from 50 Cent (what the hell is his real name as well).
  • What are you talking about? Whats wrong with you?

Tony Romo: I promise I'll be better next week

Tony Romo and the Dallas Cowboys ran into a buzz saw on Thanksgiving day. The Philadelphia Eagles were clicking on every cylinder, especially on defense. The Cowboys were dominated 33-10 because the Eagles dominated the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. A few days after shredding the Giants, Romo was harassed into an 18-29 passing performance for 199 yards. Romo was...
