PLAYERS: Serena Williams

Via NESN:

At 30 years old, Serena Williams has already cemented her legacy as the best women's tennis player of her generation and one of the five or so best of all time.

This week, though, she confirmed what many have known for a long time -- she has no undying love for the sport.

"I don't love tennis today but I'm here," Williams said after a first-round victory in the Brisbane International, according to Yahoo! Sports. "I can't live without it -- there's a difference between not loving something and not being able to live without it."

Williams admitted that this feeling wasn't anything new.

"It's not that I've fallen out of love," she said, according to The Sydney Morning Herald. "I've actually never liked sports, and I never understood how I became an athlete. I don't like working out. I don't like anything that has to do with working physically."

Neither do most of us, which makes those 39 titles and 13 Grand Slam singles titles all the more impressive.
