Gilles Simon

Gilles Simon will attempt to capture his third Bucharest title when he faces Fabio Fognini on Sunday. Simon moved past Matthias Bachinger 7-5, 6-2, while Fognini soundly ousted qualifier Attila Balazs, 6-3, 6-1.

Simon who took the Bucharest title in 2007 and 2008 spoke about his chances,”I know that I can play very good here. I know the center court perfectly and I really think I can win this tournament one more time.”

This will be Fognini’s first ATP World Tour final. “I’ve lost maybe six or seven semifinals in a row, but today I was really solid,” the Italian told media.
