Soderling, Robredo into Swedish Open quarters

Defending champion Tommy Robredo and Teimuraz Gabashvili won second-round matches in straight sets Wednesday to reach the quarterfinals at the Swedish Open. Robredo, a Spaniard seeded third in the clay-court tournament, beat Peter Luczak of Australia 6-2, 6-3. Gabashvili, an unseeded Russian, defeated Bjorn Pau of Germany 6-3, 6-2. Robredo is playing in Bastad for the ninth straight year.
