Jo-Wilfried Tsonga struggled to a 6-3, 6-7 (2), 6-3 victory over Edouard Roger-Vasselin in an all-French match in the second round at Queen's Club on Thursday.
Tsonga, who reached the French Open semifinals last week, served 11 aces and converted two of four break points. He saved both break chances in the match.
Second-seeded Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic reached the quarterfinals by beating 16th-seeded Grega Zemlja of Slovenia 6-3, 6-4. Spanish qualifier Feliciano Lopez upset 11th-seeded Julien Benneteau 7-6 (5), 6-4, and Igor Sijsling beat No. 14 Denis Istomin 7-6 (4), 6-1.
