The world's No. 1 ranked tennis player Novak Djokovic experienced a freak injury scare at the Hopman Cup when a courtside railing collapsed on the star while signing autographs.Djokovic was interacting with fans when the barrier fell down. It hit the Serbain native in the legs and several fans went tumbling to the ground along with it."It was a bit of a shock and I'm glad that the children involved are OK. I am fine," said Djokovic.Despite his comment proclaiming he was 'fine', the 25-year old was clearly in pain and headed straight for the locker room immediately following the incident. He was already dealing with a bout of jetlag leading up to the day.Djokovic arrived in Perth less than 24 hours before his scheduled match against Andreas Seppi on Monday. However, he did manage to dispatch Seppi in straight sets before attempting to sign autographs afterward."I arrived quite late last night and didn't get long hours of sleep and felt this morning like I'm dream-walking," Djokovic said. "But as the match went on I was managing to get my rhythm. I broke the ice after the first set and felt a little bit better."Djokovic, altough in discomfort, took to the court again for the mixed doubles match following the railing accident, but he and his partner Ana Ivanovic dropped the contest 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 to the Italian duo of Seppi and Francesca Schiavone.Nonetheless, Serbia picked up a win in the group-stage of the mixed teams event thanks to Ivanovic's 6-0, 6-4 triumph over Schiavone in their singles affair.Via Metro.
