WE ARE!! ... A TEAM IN BIG TROUBLE (PENN STATE!)

After being asked over 20 times, “When are you going to blog about PSU?,” I have finally surrendered. But I need to preface this post with one statement: it’s not being publicized as much out here as it is on the East Coast. Sure, I’ve seen some things on SportsCenter; I’ve proactively sought out some articles on the internet… but luckily, I don’t have to see ignorant...

Ohio State Never Learned Anything

The Buckeyes are now reported to have offered Urban Meyer the head coaching job. A few sources say it's pretty much a done deal and they're only waiting until after the loss to Michigan to formally announce it. Urban Meyer left his Florida program at the end of the 2010 season for health reasons. Now for him to sign with Ohio State only a year later is a giant slap in...

LSU Football 2012 Season Trailer: Road to Miami

Here's the newest offering from LSU's football PR people: the 2012 season trailer. You might recognize the audio track in it from The Avengers trailer. You know what that means...Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury hyping up the Tigers for 2012. Also, there's some Nine Inch Nails in it. Obviously, the hopes are high and anything less than a National Championship this year...

#NCAAFootball: Wisconsin Badgers Need to Bounce Back

The Wisconsin Badgers have a lot to prove this weekend. Last week, the Badgers played the Northern Iowa Panthers from the FCS. As Vegas predicted the Badgers at over 30, many thought the game would be a blow out. It was far from that. Wisconsin struggled to get the ball moving, however were eventually able to muster some offense. Twice the Badgers were able to go up by 19, but each...

#NCAAFootball: A Loss for Words

Pathetic. Terrible. Absolutely embarrassing. These are the words going through my mind after watching the awful display the Wisconsin Badgers offense put on yesterday. #13 Wisconsin lost on Saturday to unranked Oregon State, only mustering 207 yards on offense. The once feared Wisconsin offense seems like a thing in the past. Who's to blame for Wisconsin's poor play?...

A Pirate Never Reveals His Secrets... Even in Football

Mike Leach has been all the rage in the small town of Pullman ever since he took over as head coach at Washington State. His press conferences are entertaining to say the least. His discussions with reporters are epic. Take Tuesday's question and answer session outside Martin Stadium. Among the "tough" questions: will Jeff Tuel, who left the last game with an injured...

#NCAA Football - Week 6: LSU vs Florida (Game to Watch)

#4 LSU @ #10 Florida Gators Sound the alarms, LSU is on upset alert. It's been a season of ups and downs for LSU. They are still undefeated and sitting at #4 in the nation, but there's been a few bumps in the road. The last two games for LSU have both been pre-Halloween scares. If a very close 12-10 victory over Auburn two weeks ago didn't give them goosebumps, their...

#NCAA Football - Congratulations to Ohio University Football

You read that right, Ohio University football. Not Ohio State football.  The Bobcats won on Saturday afternoon defeating the University of Buffalo by the final of 38-31.  More importantly, Ohio has been putting together a season to remember. They're currently 22nd in the country in rushing yards and 34th in the nation in average points scored. Not to mention, for the first...

The family without football does...what?

I am anticipating going through withdrawals. There are only two Sundays of football left this season: conference championships and then the Super Bowl. The Pro Bowl weekend doesn’t count. That game is lame. During 9 months of unemployment sports have really become an escape. I’ve watched and written about more football than at any other time in my life. I’ve loved every minute...

NCAA Football 14 First Look

It's that time of year again. The first gameplay video is out from EA Sports on the latest game in the NCAA Football series. NCAA Football 14 will include things like the ability to use real cuts in running. Acceleration burst is also on the game as is "real-time physics." The latter of which shows what looks like it will likely be a gamer frustration, super power trucking...

NCAA Football 14 Presentation Upgrade Trailer

EA Sports' presentation upgrade trailer for NCAA Football 14. The decision has been made to go toward a more realistic TV style experience in the presentation. I'm not sure it's the best idea. I wrote at length about this topic yesterday at Crystal Ball Run (where I'll be contributing on occasion).
