The Chicago Marathon was on Sunday. Over 45,000 people ran in the 26.2 mile race, including a woman who was just about 39 weeks pregnant.
“We signed up for the race in February, and then two days later I found out I was pregnant,” Amber Miller told reporters today at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield. “I wasn’t real determined to run, and I kind of thought I would have already had the baby. And you know, it comes to the night before, I’m still pregnant — and I paid for it, so I’m gonna run it.”
Miller’s doctor had given her permission to train and run in half of the marathon.
Miller, of course only running in half of the marathon, walked the other half and felt contractions towards the finish line. She also said this:
“Everybody just kind of stared as I’m running by.”
