PLAYERS:
Usain Bolt
Usain Bolt went from breaking a record to spinning a record.
The sprinter completed the defense of all three Olympic titles by anchoring Jamaica's 4x100-meter relay team to a world record Saturday night.
Bolt then hotfooted it from Olympic Stadium to a party nearby in east London, where he turned DJ, entertaining the packed crowd in the early hours of Sunday morning.
At the party, Bolt said: ''I did what I did and I came here to be legend and I am now so I am very happy with myself.''
Bolt won gold in the 100 and 200 meters this week.

Usain Bolt Offered Unlimited McNuggets to Put 'Fastest Man Alive' Title to Ultimate Test
Usain Bolt has proven time and again that he's the "fastest man alive." But is the Jamaican sprinter fast enough to compete with the world's fastest online delivery service? After taking home a few more gold medals in London this month, just adding to his collection, Bolt was offered the opportunity of a lifetime -- some may say -- according to Black Sports Online...
2012 London Olympics: IOC President Says Usain Bolt is a Legend, Best Sprinter Ever
Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt has been a very confident man this year at the Olympics. After breaking records once again, Bolt decided to be a little cocky. Some of his comments, however, have raised a few eyebrows. Bolt has already ripped former sprinter Carl Lewis and declared himself "the greatest sprinter" and "greatest athlete of all-time." Adding to that,...
Five for Friday: Lewis vs. Bolt a draw
Five things I'm thinking about this weekend while trying to get over my accent envy toward the Jamaicans.
1. Something that seems true (and totally is): Carl Lewis and Usain Bolt are both right.
Carl Lewis, the former Houston Cougar and American track legend, is skeptical that Jamaica, a country with the same population as Kansas, is producing reams of the world's best...
Column: Enjoy Bolt for bringing some fun to track
There wasn't any need to shush his doubters this time, because by now Usain Bolt doesn't have any. No reason to celebrate early, either, when there was a chance to make one final statement about just how fast a human being can run.
This one was strictly business, a flat out sprint to the finish and into the record books. Sure, there was the obligatory ''To the World...
We haven’t seen the best of Usain Bolt according to former Olympian Michael Johnson
Usain Bolt came into the 2012 Summer Olympics with more than a few doubters and something to prove in the eyes of many. During last year’s world championships he was disqualified in the 100m event he was not surprisingly favored to win because of a false start. At the Jamaican trials leading up [...]
Usain Bolt was mentioned the most on Twitter during the London Olympics
Throughout the 16 days of the London Olympics, roughly 150 million tweets were sent. That is an astronomical number for slightly over a two-week stretch. In fact, so many users were on Twitter at the start of the Olympics that the network even crashed for a short period. No single person was the topic of discussion in more of those 150 million tweets than Usain Bolt.
According to...
Column: London done, so prepare for circus in Rio
IOC President Jacques Rogge still can't figure out what to call Usain Bolt, so here's hoping he gets another Olympics to sort it out. There's just something about his latest effort -''active performance legend'' - that doesn't rise to a gold medal level.
There's a lot of things we can call the London Olympics, and still not run out of superlatives...
Canada loses bronze after DQ in 4x100 relay
Justyn Warner spiked the flag down onto the track.
What was supposed to be a celebration lap for the Canadians turned into an Olympic moment Warner wished he could forget.
Moments after taking third in the 4x100-meter final on Saturday night, Canada was disqualified for stepping outside of its lane.
The bronze medal was gone. And so was a chance to be part of a medal ceremony...
Denard Robinson Confident He Could Defeat Usain Bolt in 40-Yard Dash
Everyone wants a piece of Usain Bolt these days. In what is becoming some sort of hip trend, another non-sprinter is confident he could go step-for-step with Bolt in the 40-yard dash. This time around, it's Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson. "I've watched [Bolt] run, and I'm pretty sure I can beat him in a 40-yard dash," Robinson said at Michigan's media...

Denard Robinson: I’m pretty sure I can beat Usain Bolt in the 40-yard dash
Another day, another football player who thinks he is faster than Usain Bolt. With the Olympics having just ended, Bolt’s speed has been a popular topic of discussion among athletes in non-Olympic sports. Everyone wants to be the fastest guy on the team. But being faster than the fastest man in the world would give you serious bragging rights. Even if it’s only in the...

Closing Ceremonies No Place For Cover Bands Or Sports Cheats
At the end of the day (a quite English saying that sounds even better with the proper accent) the biggest stage in world sports got smaller.

The Games carry a new message after last night's closing ceremonies. As big as the event looms around the globe, it's not big enough to...
