I still don’t really know who Lolo Jones is, but I hear that she gets a lot of hype for being attractive, and being one of the better hurdlers in the country. Ah, and she takes pride in being a virgin.

So with that as the backdrop, I watched her come in fourth in the 100-meter hurdles on Tuesday night, and then saw her break down in tears on the Today Show this morning. It was all a little disheartening.

You know why? She actually seems kind of cool. She was very genuine. Once I found this intense video of her running style being broken down super scientifically, I was hooked.

Besides the fact that it’s basically a promotional video for Red Bull, the stuff that they do with Lolo is awesome. They break down the mechanics of being hurdler – sort of like what they do in those “Sports Science” segments on Sportscenter – only that nerdy guy isn’t narrating in this video.

And I realize that “being a hurdler” probably isn’t the most interesting thing in the world, or what you want to be paying attention on a casual Wednesday afternoon, but this isn’t just some strange equation or something. They hook her up to a bunch of tiny cameras and have her run, and it captures everything in slow motion and then moves it into a computer, where they can change the angles and show how everything goes. I’m telling you, it’s a cool video.

Plus, it turns out that Lolo Jones is kind of attractive, and that wasn’t just a rumor. So if you’re not into the sports science stuff, there’s always that to hold your attention.
