Lolo: I'm 'desperate' for medal

Darryl Dyck/AP Lolo Jones says that joining the 2014 U.S. Olympic bobsled team has absolutely nothing to do with the sport. Jones said in an interview with HBO’s Real Sports that she joined the team to win a medal, because she is “desperate” for one. Jones recalls she was motivated to join the team after her loss in the 100-meter hurdles in this past summer’s Olympic games in London. “If I won a freakin’ medal — if I won any medal — I would not be a bobsledder,” she said. “Absolutely not. Are you kidding me? No. No!” Jones has competed in the World Cup circuit in the winter and is a candidate for the Olympic squad. “I’m so desperate. Desperate,” Jones said. “It absolutely doesn’t matter (whether she wins in the Winter or Summer Games.) And you know the hard question will be is if I get a medal for bobsled, and I get a medal finally for track, which would I love more?” The 29-year-old’s interview on Real Sports will air on Tuesday at 10 p.m. ET.
