I think many would agree with Lolo Jones that she is indeed desperate, whether it’s for wins as she attests or attention as it appears from her actions is up for debate. The 100-meter hurdler turned bobsledder, appeared on HBO Real Sports in an interview to be aired on Tuesday according to USA Today Sports, and said that her failure to medal at the Olympics led to a feeling of desperation to win, which led her to bobsledding. “If I won a freakin’ medal — if I won any medal — I would not be a bobsledder,” she said. “Absolutely not. Are you kidding me? No. No!” “I’m so desperate. Desperate,” Jones said. “It absolutely doesn’t matter (whether she wins in the Winter or Summer Games.) And you know the hard question will be is if I get a medal for bobsled, and I get a medal finally for track, which would I love more?” I hope Jones succeeds at bobsledding and wins a medal at the Winter Olympics. It can’t be easy switching sports like that and performing at a high level almost instantly which she has done, but somehow I don’t feel like winning a medal will be enough to quench her thirst for the spotlight.
