Dear Darius,
My have times changed. I remember when you came to the Trailblazers. You were really funny in those Gus Van Sant commercials and were one of they few players I let myself like back in the Jailblazer days. I even gave you the nickname "Delirious Styles" that my friends and I would yell every time you took it to the basket. Over time things started to slide. You didn't seem to have that inner fire to continue to make yourself better that people seem to value in an athlete. I never thought you were a bad guy. We've been in the same clubs and you've always been cool. You seemed to have been influenced too much by Sheed "just cut the check" Wallace and you seemed to stop trying, and then you got hurt. Bummer. Too much God-given talent wasted. Recently it's been said your drug violation was for preformance enhancers. Now, I'm not getting down on you man. I probably would have done the same thing if I had your injury. Just saying. In fact I've got a suggestion. Rumor has it you've been examined by the Suns medical staff. If you comeback to the NBA your salary will stay on the Trailblazer's books. PLEASE DON'T COME BACK. Your game won't ever be the same. Go play in Europe. If you even have a half step left you would do well. You could be the star you never were in the NBA. The Blazers would still pay you and you would get more money in Europe than you would get in the NBA. Just a suggestion from someone who wishes you luck.
