Wow......what a difference a season makes. As some of the bloggers on here have accused me of hiding out, maybe it's because I am working 16 hours a day since August. And, it may be a good thing that I am. I have been to one game at TX Stadium this season after attending almost every game for 19 years. It least it was a win over the Eagles.
I would have to agree with Steve Young's comment a week or two ago.....and there are several who agree.......that the present Cowboy team lacks leadership.....both on the coaching front and among the players. There are no vocal leaders on offense.
Bradie James is sort of the vocal leader on defense, but still not strong enough. I think that the defense has given up......it was plain as day in the NYG game. The defense sees the offense doing nothing and they get discouraged and quit playing. Looks like the Cowboys have some serious problems. I don't think these problems are totally due to injury, although many fans think that when Felix Jones, Newman, and Romo come back , all will be well. Well, the slide to mediocrity started in the NYG playoff game last season and has carried over to this season. The loss to St. Louis displayed a lot of holes in the offensive and defensive schemes of the
Dallas Cowboys. Someone on this team needs to step up and call people out for their terrible play. Also,
Jerry Jones should be villified for his handling of the backup QB position.
Brad Johnson just doesn't have it anymore and Bollinger got thrown to the wolves without any success either. They should have gone after Chris Simms or someone that can lead an offense. It affects both sides of the ball and the whole team. Of course, no team in the NFL is going to win a Super Bowl with a backup QB and it's sure obvious this team won't win any more games with Johnson or Bollinger at QB. And, the pic of Romo laughing on the sidelines? I like Romo and the way he plays, but what was that all about from a supposed leader of the team?
I am not sure Wade Phillips is the man that can fix the mess, but if the Cowboys don't get a win at Washington after the bye week, they can kiss this season goodbye, which they probably can anyway. The NYG's have a big lead in the division now and, unless they totally collapse, will win it with 3 games to go in the season. Philly is looking like they may be back in the fold and Washington is playing well.
Darn, it sure is nice to be working so many hours now, so I don't have to watch the games like St. Louis and NYG. There is a big benefit to working so much.
