When the Jets acquired
Brett Favre back in August I was the happiest kid in the world. I'll never forget how I found out. I found out through a Giants fan, yes a Ginats fan. The text message read "
Brett Favre is a New York Jet". I thought of acouple things: One we will make the playoffs with our schedule, we will have a quarterback that will finally hit LC and Cotchery deep, and what color jersey am I going to get? After all the press conferences, interviews, practices, the season has begun and the Jets are 3-3. Should the Jets be better then 3-3? Absolutely. They lost to a Patriots team without
Tom Brady, they lost to a banged up San Diego team and now recently they lost to a terrible Raiders team. Why are they 3-3? I think the main reason is they are not utilizing Favre the right way. Whose to blame for that? Well it should be Eric Mangani and Brian Schottenheimer. They brought in a hall of famer, a legend, an immortal, or whatever you wanna call him. They still run this offense like Pennington is behind the center. They still run screen passes and short routes here and there. I Know Favre's game is scrambling around and throwing short passes as well but they have to change it up. The overtime agaiinst Oakland is a perfect example. Favre led them all the way down the field to force into overtime and what do they do? They still play conservative. In that situation Oakland is hurting. You need to attack them. Throw deep, run trick plays with Brad Smith, do whatever you can to beat that team in that situation! I know Thomas Jones had a great game, but you need to use Favre the right way especially after they started with a spread offense. Look what he did against Arizona, a career high six touchdown passes with those Titan retro uniforms. Hopefully Sunday against the Chiefs it's more like the Arizona game. Is this team a playoff team? I think they still are. The AFC is weaker then ever. The Jets have a tough schedule coming up though so Sunday is a must win. It's also a must to use Favre the right way!
