Hometown: Kennesaw, GA
Favorite : College Basketball Program:: 1) Maryland Terrapins, 2) Georgetown Hoyas
Top Sportswriters:: ESPN.com- (my idol) the late Ralph Wiley, Bill Simmons, Jemele Hill, Pat Forde, Marc Stein, (the underrated) Patrick Hruby Stephen A. Smith (Philadelphia Inquirer), (the versatile)Mitch Albom -- SI.com (the always insightful) Peter King, Stewart Mandel,
Favorite College Football Program:: 1) Miami Hurricanes, 2) Virginia Tech Hokies 2) Florida Gators

Greatest Concepts In Sports:: Mock Drafts--(keeps us preoccupied during those inevitable lulls between the sports seasons), VP of Common Sense(Bill Simmons), the player-coach--(a lost tradition we should restore), Free Agency
About Me:: Born and raised in Washington D.C. but I feel I've always felt like California is the place for me. That's right I'm a East Coast guy with a West Coast bias. I'll probably end up in the entertainment biz one day but my aspirations after graduation in 3 years is to become a sports journalist for the L.A. Times.
Stuck In Limbo:: I'm a UGA student but a diehard Florida Gator fan.

An article I wrote today was posted as the headline on SI.com's Link Page so it's gotten over 25,000 visits. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/extramustard/02/19/hotclicks.0219/index.ht ml "From SI..com-- The amusingly named blog, Dunson Checks In, is comparing each NBA team to a popular movie. The Phoenix Suns draw the comparison to Jumper, the No. 1 movie in the country right now. And that works for us, since Rachel Bilson stars in the flick." What does Cloverfield have in common with the Miami Heat, I am Legend with the Lakers and The Heartbreak Kid with the Raptors? Read to find out.

The BCS is such an asinine organization, they'd tell you the capital of Ohio is O, and believe it. The BCS may have concocted a makeshift national championship to placate the masses with a bland matchup between the Ohio State Buckeyes and the LSU Tigers but that doesn't mean I have to accept it. If the general public's vitriolic reaction is any barometer for the BCS' support, then the BCS Armageddon is upon us. Even the BCS' staunchest proponents have to question how the Missouri Tigers, the #1 team in the nation 48 hours ago, was jumped by Kansas and Illinois-- two teams Missouri beat on in the opening and final weeks of the season. The lack of a true playoff has also robbed fans of potentially prestigious matchups.

How the Knicks, one of the most underachieving franchises in NBA history could take a hint from Lions fans and ease off Isiah. Unlike baby Nicky from the Fresh Price of Bel-Air, the Knicks won't suddenly transform from newborn losers to full fledged contenders in just one instant. It's a process.

The Bears' historically woeful quarterback status has been a constantly revolving door of has beens, never were's and quarterbacks that score more points for the defense than the team he actually quarterbacks. So while the Bears settle for Brian Griese, the debate begins on what do the Bears do longterm. Here are a few non-science fiction suggestions to resurrect the quarterback position in Chi-Town and settle their eternal QB debacle assuming the services of NFL Draft entrants Brian Brohm, Andre Woodson, or Matt Ryan are unavailable to them.

I love everything about college football from the pageantry, most of the traditions but especially the diverse and intricate offensive systems and their execution. Here's how to decipher the best offenses in college football.

I think the title speaks for itself but in all seriousness, here's my breakdown of Bill Belichick's not so shocking actions and why the coaching profession has lost its prestige.

I've been doing some research, going with my instincts, and looking back at last season for clues as to what I expect to see this season. At the end of the season, I'll go back and see how I did. However, the biggest surprise is my prediction for the national championship game. Prepare to be shocked

Legally he would be screwed even if he won every major sports championship in North America since 2001 but just read it and makeup your own mind. There's a reasonable conclusion in the end.

If anything this scandalous summer has opened my eyes to the varying levels of sports controversies. In this era of intense scrutiny and intrusiveness into the lives of athletes it's important to know what your dealing when you hear breaking news, sound bites from an exclusive interview taped yesterday or an excerpt from a soon to be released novel. Scandals are a lot like an exclusive club, everyone might not get in and even if you do there's no guarantee you'll gain access to the VIP section. Just think of the codes like you would if you were ordering hot wings; atomic, hot, medium, mild and apply them accordingly.

Vick prepares for the battle of his life, Roger Goodell's conduct plicy seems to be having a negative effect-- instead of deflecting attention from the league's law breaking citizens the scrutiny has intensified because of it.
