New Occupation for Mark Martin Next Season

Can anyone explain to me why Mark Martin would want to run full time next year in the No. 88 car for Yates Racing? Roush Racing is in as much indecision as ever over who will drive Mark's No. 6 car so if he really wanted to continue the world's longest farewell salute to the fans, wouldn't he just stay in his own car next season? Martin's business manage Benny Ertel has denied the rumors as having no basis in fact but was quick to not slam the door on the idea either.

Suggested NASCAR Points Switch for 2007

NASCAR drivers are creatures of habit. No one in the world of sports understands the concept of risk-reward better than racecar drivers! The current point's system rewards guys for playing it safe. Let's say you are running in fifth place with ten laps to go with thirty guys still on the lead lap. If you push the issue and spin out you can lose a ton of points. If you win you get the glory of the victory but you only gain twenty-five points in the standings. But if you spin out and finish thirtieth you can lose eighty-two points. Who can blame these guys for playing it safe and point's racing with the Chase for the Championship system in place? Now if NASCAR switches the points in 2007 to reward winning we might see more hard racing for the win. NASCAR you don't even need to hire a consultant or a Nobel mathematician to figure out what changes to make, I have done all the number crunching for you!

Operation Go Fish

This December the Ryan Newman Foundation is having their fundraiser, a fishing tourney out on Lake Norman. DoinDonuts, RacerDogs, and the Ryan Newman Foundation are teaming up to say thanks to our troops in a very unique way. Let's team up with companies big and small to sponsor sending troops home on leave to this fishing tourney as our guests! This won't help out soldiers to make their house payment or take care of other vital needs, but it will give them a chance to have some fun. So many of our men and women in the military are racing fans and this will be a great opportunity for them to meet their favorite NASCAR celebrities.
