NFL Destroys Tapes

Looks like the NFL wants this to go away now. Why would they destroy the evidence ? I think the punishment should have leaned more towards the coach, and less towards the franchise (i.e. suspension instead of loss of 1st rounder). What will be the next foul between BB and Mangini ? I am sure Bill will not leave well enough alone, and will somehow pay back his former protege. But for now, I hope everyone can put this behind them and realize that most franchises do this (signal stealing) in some form or another; this does not absolve Bill of his infraction rather I am trying to make the point that while what was done was not kosher, in a competitive arena coaches look to gain an advantage anyway they can. Furthermore, had this truly been a huge advantage, as most of the media would have you believe, the Patriots would have won alot more than they did. Does anyone forget the loss to the Colts just last year?

Gagne - Gag me

This guy is ridiculous, he has lost us a minimum of 4 games. The divsion would be clinched already if not for him. And with Schill and Wake unable to post a W, wouldn't it be nice to have Gabbard back. Theo Ep. makes some really bad trades/signings. Drew and Gagne are two of the worst. The Sox do not look strong heading in to the post-season; I honestly believe they will get beat in the first series, whether it be Cleveland or LAL. I still hope for the best, but with Youlk, Papi, Crisp and Manny all hurting it is pretty unlikely we have the team to go deep.

F_CK YEAH

Dustin Pedroia, a candidate for rookie of the year, and an excellent baseball player, has been showing more of his personality as the season deepens. More and more , as he makes some extraordinary plays, both in the field and with his bat, he exclamates his accomplishment with a hardy "F_ck Yeah". It is great to see this kind of enthusiam and love for the game. I, for one, am pleased to have him on my team. Firing up the old-timers isn't always easy, but between him and Ellsbury, I think the Sox got that covered. Go Sox ! F_ck Yeah !

Red Sox -- or -- Red Sux

We control our own destiny (great cliche) -- The Sox certainly seem to have this wrapped up, but w/ another Yankee sweep we will be in dire trouble. Do they do this on purpose? If we can win 8 of our last 15 games the Yanks need to go 14-2 (to tie-and te tie breaker goes to the Damn Yankees). Possible, yes, but very unlikely.

I do not see them going deep into the playoffs though -- we have a losing record in 1 run games and have not had the expected heroics from Papi et al. Cleveland is a very good club, and that is who will be probably be facing in the first round. If we make it by them we will more than likely be taking on the Angels, and they are no joke. Heat it up, and anything can happen. Go Sox.

Wow -- Relatively minimal punishment

Considering how hard line Goddell has been, this is merely a slap on the wrist. 1/2 a mil to us(the fans) is huge, but to BB (or Robert Kraft, who will probably pay the fine), it's really not that bad. And the loss of a 1st round draft pick is big, but we have 2, so losing 1 of them just puts us even w/ everyone else. The message has been sent, now lets go win vs. San Diego, aka the whiners. Truly this is probably a good thing -- cleaning up the game, and letting there be no doubt when we take home Lombardi no.4.

There is no doubt that lots of other teams do. or have done the same thing, (see my last post), so it is only fitting that he did not suspend BB or deduct more draft choices. The Patriots are lucky, and hopefully they will remain so.

Cameras Commonplace

Check out this link - here it is stated that all teams use 'illegal' filming of the opposition at their coaches benest. Of course it still does not excuse the Pats, but, it does alleviate some of the pain. Regardless of any of this, the players still have to go out and execute. BB will pay the price, and be made an example of; whether in the form of a suspension, or lost draft picks is yet to be determined. Either way the Patriots no longer stand as a 'model' franchise.

Patriots stealing signals !!!

Apparently the Jets caught some dude on the sidelines filming their signals, and signalling them over to the Pats sideline. This is very disturbing, and not an isolated incident. Both the Lions and Packers said they caught the same guy doing the same thing last year, they didn't bring it to League attention because "that's not the reason why we got our butts kicked".

First we have the Rodney/HGH incident and now this-- I guess the Pats are not as pure as the driven snow as we would like to believe. It's almost a certainty that other teams are doing similar things to get an edge; but we got our edge w/ all the great off-season maneuvers. There seems to be no rationale for this. I am truly disappointed, but still glad we won.

Moss Mania

Now there are no questions whether Randy can still get it done. Third highest career game for him w/ 183 yds. Not bad for an opening day w/ a new team. Opposing defenses beware. If we can involve Donte more next week, then we can begin to think the hype is right. San Diego holds a big grudge from last years playoff loss, they are hungry. If we can get a W in that game and avoid injuries we are looking solid. D looked good without Rodney and Seymour. There is a long season aheaed, but what a great start.

NFL Opener

Colts/ Saints-- A potential Super Bowl Matchup. Well I am choosing the Saints to get there, but the Colts are not going back this year. Nonetheless it should be a good mathup between 2 high-powered offenses. Regardless of who wins, all that matters is that the season is finally here. GO PATS !!!

Lowell Too Pricey ?

The Boston Globe ran an article saying Mike Lowell is too costly for them to re-sign. Absolutely Absurd. To pay a worthless bucket o' crap like JD Drew a huge amount for no production and only average fielding, then to say Lowell is too costly. He leads the team in average, rbi's and is still stellar defensively despite having an off year. If you move Youlk back to third after sucha n awesome performance at first this year, he will likely see a drop in production, and an increase in errors. If the Sox don't get Lowell locked up they are making a big mistake. And speaking of Drew- get rid of him, even if you have to eat some of his annual salary. Ellsbury is great, and think of how deadly all that speed would be w/ Coco, Lugo (whom I feel deserves a second year to iron out his transition) and Jacoby.

Pats 1st Injury report

First injury report-- Tom Brady-- shoulder-- shocking ! The designations are different (practice participation instead of "doubtful" "questionable" etc.) but Senor Hoodie is still working his shiite. What a joke that whole scenario is.

We must crush the Jets, otherwise their upstart arses will be more competitive all season. Should be interesting to see how the Colts fair tomorrow nite, with alot of their D gone (4 starters - 36%).

NFL is the shazizzle.

PATS vs. jets

Opening game only a few days off -saweeeet - some concerns? Yes but aren't there always? Rodney has missed so many games over the last 2 years, I think we got that covered. Seymour out - Jarvis starts for almost every other club in the league. This is a very good T-E-A-M.

The jets are also a good team, and we will have to battle them, but I am pretty confident we will pull out the W. Moss and Maroney_ M&M_ B&B_ Brady and Bellicheck. Mangini_more like Mangina.

Season prediction 12-4, maybe 13-3. We beat the Saints in the bowl for no. 4
