In a move certain to give an instant boost to US Pro Soccer. The MLS side, Los Angeles Galaxy, is reportedly signing the former Real Madrid midfielder a 5 year contract to play here in the US.
England doesn't want him, Spain doesn't want him, now we here in the US are going to give him a try.
Even with Beckham's worldwide appeal, I still don't see any real increase in interest in the sport. Sure it will create a lot of media buzz, but I still don't think it puts people in the seats long term, increase ratings or ad revenues. MLS Soccer is, as always has been - along with it's predecessor leagues, a marginal, at best, league.
