Beltran gets tossed from game, calls umpire's move 'weak'

Carlos Beltran has been accused of playing without passion during his run with the Mets. That wasn't the case Tuesday. The Mets' star center fielder erupted at plate umpire Brian Runge in the fourth inning and got tossed from the game.

2008 NBA Mock Draft

So on Tuesday night the NBA draft lottery selections happened. The Bulls pulled the big upset moving all the way to Number 1. Now that the order is finalized I'm going to release the first version of my 2008 NBA mock draft. I went with selections that in my gut teams would make (some of these picks won't happen because I think teams will trade up and down, especially a team like Seattle, which could both trade up or down.

Fearless Forecast: The Winner At Richmond Will Be….

Let's be scientific about this. I respect all 43 guys in the field, but let's be real- we can eliminate 15 drivers right off the top. we're talking about the guys in the line-up who've never won a Cup race. That includes the likes of David Ragan, Reed Sorenson and Patrick Carpentier-who did put forward good qualifying efforts. To me, this place is just a little too tough for a guy to get his first win. This whittles the field down to 28.

Hendrick Team Has Engine Issues

The Hendrick Motorsports cars had major engine problems during practice for the Daytona 500. The two-time defending Nascar champion and Daytona pole-sitter Jimmie Johnson, the four-time series champ Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Casey Mears were forced to change engines because of a lifter problem probably caused by a bad batch of coating. In all, five of the nine Hendrick-powered cars had problems. The engine swaps will send those five Chevrolets to the back of the field in their 150-mile...

My NBA All-Star Team (Eastern Squad)

As with most of you, I am usually dissatisfied with the picks for the NBA All-Star team. The fan voting, though I admit it should remain, always seems to reward someone that is undeserving. So I took it upon myself to pick my own All-Star team.

Duck, Duck, Goose!!!

"Goose" Gossage was a 6 foot 3 right-handed closer who was respected by everyone. He never shied away from wanting to get the big outs, proving so by recording the final out of a division, league or World Series title 7 times. He came at hitters with a blistering fastball that ranged from 98-102 mph-there was no need for another pitch.
