The Boston Celtics: I was born and raised a Celtics fan. I really didn't have a choice in my house with my older brother and dad always watching the games religiously. As I continued to grow up I came to love the Celts through thick and thin. Through the good times and the bad I watched every game that I could and cheered no matter what. Well folks, this is the year. We all know it. I have never seen my dad or my brother as excited about the Celtics before, and there has never been a team with so many fabulous players. I cannot wait for Green 17

But it is important that I get the word out.
Have you heard of the website called SocialVibe.com? It's a great site that donates money to important causes around the world. However, the money doesn't get donated without users, like myself. What happens is people join the site, pick a cause to support, pick a sponsor to support them, and then they put a cool badge on their profile. Whenever someone views that profile, the person gets money donated to that cause!!!
For example, here's my profile badge:
I support education and Apple is my sponsor. The sponsor's are the one's who are actually donating the money, so it is completely free for the users too.
I would love for you to join to help out a cause that you support. You can even pick the NBA as your sponsor!!

Thanks!

Here we are a couple of weeks after the Championship and I'm already getting bored. I'm right in the heart of the Boston area and people are already starting to forget about this 17th win. Yeah, the shirts are still being bought, but the Red Sox, as always, are being talked about more.
So now what am I supposed to do for the next few months? I don't watch baseball, and football isn't right around the corner either. I miss watching the Celtics games already!
For now I'll just have to wait. I'll bask in the glory with some of the other super fans and hope the Celtics don't trade some of our favorite, and needed, players. Until then, I'l be counting down to the preseason.

For pretty soon we'll be wanting Green 18. But, for now, I'm sure we're all still basking in the glory of 6/17/08. We all know the irony of the numbers by now. Game 6, Championship 17, it doesn't get much better than this. It still hasn't really sunk it, but it sure does feel amazing. I love the newspapers, the television, the merchandise, and everything about being a champion. I loved seeing my father stunned as the game was going on. I loved screaming my head off in my family room, the best place to be if I can't be in the Garden. I love calling my brother, who lives in LA, and celebrating over the phone.
My dad wants them to win again next year, but I think as long as they don't crash and burn I will be okay. I mean, you can only have this feeling one time. You can only redeem yourself once.
GREEN 17, BABY!

It has been a long 22 years since the Celtics have won a championship. So long that I wasn't even alive to see it. I can't say that I know what this means as much as my father, who has been a Celtics fan since the day he was born, but I know enough to understand that this is a historic and memorbale time in Boston. June 5th will be the start of the finals and I think it is ironically fitting that the Celts will be up against the Lakers. I asked my dad last night after the win, "Did you ever think you would live to see this happen again?" He honestly replied, "Not until I was a very old man." This is the time for Boston. This is the time for Green 17.

Round 1 is over for the Boston Celtics, finally. Frankly, it was quite nerve-wracking. Game 7 for the first round? At least they won in the end. And yes, as long as they win at home the whole way through they will win the championship, but this is highly unlikely. You need to win during away games too. Round 2 is up, and let's hope that the C's can finish this series in less than seven games even though they're playing a harder team. It can happen. Correction. It must happen.

With all of things being said about Boston fans lately, I had to make a comment on the situation myself. First off, I'm sure by now Mike Bibby has learned his lesson. I don't really have anything against the guy, but come on. You don't say things like that. It shows true ignorance. Boston fans are never, "fair weather fans." We truly care about our teams and players no matter what. Sure, it is nice to win, but the Garden will always be packed, and the people at Fenway will always be singing "Sweet Caroline." It is extremely insulting for anyone to even suggest that the only reason Boston has so many fans is because they are winning. I for one feel personally insulted. Last year, and every year of my life for the most part, I had watched almost every single Celtics game. I cheered and yelled and stood by those players even when they lost 18 straight games, and I know thousands of people did that with me. And, think about the Red Sox. Boston waited 86 years to win a championship and the fans were faithful the whole time. All in all, people will say what they want about the Boston fans, but the only reason they make fun of us is simple- they're jealous. They know we have a true passion for sports whether it be football, baseball, basketball, or even hockey (yes, there are many Bruins fans). The past few years have been amazing. The Patriots have won, the Red Sox have won, and now that the Celtics have made the greatest turn-around in NBA history, people don't like it. Well, you know what, it's time for the Celtics, and if people don't like it too bad. It's our turn this year, and we would love nothing more than to celebrate a 17th championship.

For those of you who may have watched the television reality series "Dancing With the Stars," I would like to know your opinion on Jason Taylor, the pro-football player who is on the show this season. I am very impressed with his ability to dance with his height. He is one of the best dancers on the show this season and has been receiving very good marks from the judges. As a fan of the program, I am very happy that he is there.
Also, the football players that have been on the show in the past have been very good. Is there some reason the football players are good dancers? I have heard that sometimes they may take ballet classes, but Jason said he hasn't.

As the regular season comes to an end, I feel bored watching the last few Celtics games. I mean, we already know they're in the playoffs and have home court advantage, so its just killing me! I want to get to that 17th champsionship right away!
Does anyone else feel like this, even if it is not about the Celtics but your team?

I'm sorry Rockets fans, really. I am. But for us Boston fans, this is awesome! Now the Celts have really proven that they are the best team in the league and no one is going to stop them. The game last night was awesome. Leon Powe and Rajon Rondo, my favorite players, were also the main contributors to the team. Not only did the Celtics win, but by 20 points, and they were even up more than that at some points. So, unfotunately for Houston, they were humiliated at home. On the other hand, Boston just showed that they are a real threat to watch out for. Green 17, baby.

I think it will be the Boston Celtics because they have amazing players that work together as a team. "The Green is Back On"

SO we recently just got P. J. Brown and there are still talks about getting others such as Sam Cassel but do we really need new players? The year has been going so well and the team unity has been so strong. I think throwing some new players into the mix tthis late in the game may just throw things off. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against any of the other players, but the Celtics came into this season together and should leave together. Even Brown said he wanted to come to Boston to get a ring. This seems like he is just taking the hard work of the Celts have done for him and placing it onhis ring finger. Am a being crazy, or are new players not needed?

During the past few months, Leon Powe of the Boston Celtics has been getting many more minutes in the games with the injuries of Kevin Garnett and now Kendrick Perkins. Not only has Powe been given the chance to shine as a player- and he has- but, the fans have gotten to learn more about Leon himself. Tommy and Mike recently shared about Leon's life to those watching the game at home. I was surprised to find out about how he came from a broken home as a child, spent years in foster care, and was the man of the family for his brothers and sisters. This helped me respect him so much more. I often forget that athletes really are normal people. Powe's life used to seem perfect to me- a great career, pleanty of money, and a new baby, LP3, with his wife. I now understand how hard Leon's life must have been and I am proud that he has risen above all of the difficulties and is really making a life for himself and his family. It's great that people like Leon can show us as fans that anyone can follow his of her dreams. It's also great that Leon can deliver and win games for the Boston Celtics i.e. the Minnesota game.

It is what it is... and it's been a few days. But to Patriots fans, it's still a huge shocker and disappointment. How could they? How could they lose? Perfection was right around the corner. And now is seems all Pat's fans can do is mope and think about the "What ifs." What if there weren't so many false starts? What if the offesnsive line protected Brady more? and the big one, What if Moss had been able to catch that touchdown pass?
Patriots fans are slowly recovering, but will they ever be able to get over the humiliation? Many think that if they do not have a perfect season next year then all is lost. I think, we have once again realized that there really is only one game a year that matter.

This seems to be the new theme. In every game, or so it seems, at least one Celt is actually gets hurt. And I'm not talking about acting hurt, I'm talking sprained ankles, strained abdominals, and other things of the sort. WIth KG out today the Celts lost to the Magic in a buzzer beater win. In this game alone, Rajon Rondo had a minor sprain in his ankle, and Tony Allen got hit in the eye pretty bad. It seems to me that teams are just beating up the Celtics in order to get a win. Yes, I might be a little bitter that the C's lost today, but this is an issue that I've noticed from the start of the season that just seems to be getting worse. Has anyone else noticed this happening more than it usually does in the NBA?
