I am really excited to watch my beloved Bengals play tonight. I am interested to see some of the position battles pay out in the first preseason game. I am not looking forward to the Brett Farve onslaught the is sure to be the topic of the broadcast. He is not on either team and is not a factor of what in happening on the field. I hope to hear some insight about both team and the players fighting for spots. Let's take some time and be football fans not gossip hounds.
Go Bengals and best of luck to all the teams this seasona€¦.besides the Steelers of course.
5 players to watch on the Bengals roster tonight. No surprise most of the players are on defense.
1.
Simeon Castille the Cornerback out of Alabama. He can play corner and safety and is fighting for a roster spot. He should see a good amount of paying time tonight.
2.
Kyries Hebert is a safety who signed the richest contract in Canadian football history. Needless to say he wants to stick on a NFL roster to play against the best in the world. He has great speed and size. I think he is safe bet to make the team. Safety is a deep position so he will have to contribute on special teams as well as playing free safety.
3. Brandon Johnson is a free agent signing formally of the
Arizona Cardinals. He backed up the talented Dansby in Phoenix and has impressed coaches during the Rivers hold out. I am interested to see if he pushes A. Brooks or Jaunty for playing time on the strong side LB position.
4.
Ben Utecht is another free agent learning a new system. He made his mark in Indy backing up
Dallas Clark and did catch quite a few balls for the Colts. I hope he can be that presence that can keep team honest when defending the best receiving core in the league Ocho and TJ.
5: Jerome Simpson is a talented and raw WR who was the second round choice of the Bengals. With other big name prospects still on the board the Bengals shocked some of the experts taking a small school kid who played at Coastal Carolina that may have lasted a few more rounds. Needless to say the Bengals saw something in this kid and with the recent track record of the receivers we have seen grow into monsters I believe in Simpson.
