Ok Sixer fans... Since I am extremely frustrated with the our overall team performance to date, I will begin with the POSITIVES...

Thad Young has come to play... Im excited to see his growth... He is more confident, willing to defend and doesnt get outside of his role... can you believe he is leading the team in scoring??? Huh?

Lou- Will is doing more of the same... I wasnt high on him when we drafted him, but Im glad we did... He is a phenom and can put up quick #'s that we obviously need...With his great play, Im startin to wonder if we really need to keep Andre Miller after this year.

Speights looks promising... Im happy with his play... Other than rookie mistakes, hes ok with me.

Lastly, Kareem Rush... I absolutely hated his game with the Lakers and Pacers.. But Im impressed with his play so far with us. He worked on his game a lil... Hes not a starter... but a filler player...

Now the NEGATIVES!!!

Iggy.. I know its early in the season... but what is goin on??? 11 ppg? what is that like a point for every million??? Where is the superstardom? Where is the 20 ppg from last season? Com'on iggy... the Sixers paid you superstar money... even more than you were initially asking... show up... I dont wanna see anymore games where you score 2 pts after playing 23 min for the rest of the season

EB... You are doing ok... but we need more... 15 ppg... Im expecting you to have the best season you've ever had because now you have other players that can score... But the other players are not doing so well either so you get a pass... but get it together... no less than 20 ppg!!!

Sammy-D... Ok... you should be havin' the best season of your life... with the acquisition of EB... and with Thad Young actually scorin pts... the floor should be pretty spread... Although the floor would be spread out completely if Iggy was doin better... but you should be killing everyone down low... Im not really seeing any progress from one year to the next... you should be getting 12 a night, at least

I know its early in the season... but we can start off as slow as we did last season, especially cuz we have players now... The question is when are these players gonna show up???

Our "#1" receiver went in surgery today to repair a sports hernia. What is goin on??? Is this the worst thing that could have happened in the preseason... or does this put a fire under the Eagles management to go hard after some kind of replacement. The last time we heard of a sports hernia... we didnt see out QB for about 7 games... what will be of K-Curt?

Also with Reggie Brown battling hamstring injuries...leaves DeSean Jackson as the #1 WR??? Dont get me wrong... I love D-Jax... but I want to see him in this league for a long time... and he looks like a great compliment to what we have... but now we have nothing!!!

Note to EAGLES management:Wake Up- we need help at the wide out... Note to McNabb: Stop saying that we are ok at this position... I dont really care who has a nice training camp... I care about production in the regular season (when it matters!!!)...

As of right now we have... D-Jax, Greg Lewis, Hank Baskett, Jason Avant, and Micheal Gasperson???

Ok da EAGLES have finished their second preseason game... My honest assessment is that the first team offense and special teams, still needs a little work... but thats why they call it "Pre season" right???

Reggie Brown has hamstring issues and no tellin how long he will be out...McNabb was comfortable, with the exception of that throw after the scrimmage...Westbrook looked great... Asante Samuel got a little work in.. Kevin Kolb had a brilliant game... Unbelievable poise in the pocket... also hung in there and delivered strike after strike... Tony Hunt... What can I say??? Heck of a game... DeSean Jackson was superman... he is performing at light speed... For a while, he was the only receiver that showed up... I think he will have a major impact in the upcoming season... Trevor Laws... had good work... And overall the second team was pretty effective...

What are your assessments?

Ok Philly fans... Andre Iguodala just signed to stay with the Sixers for $80 million over 6 years. Great to the Sixers for keeping Iggy.

I have mixed feelings on this one. I definitely wanted to keep Iggy. Im not sure that I would have paid him as much as they did. I understand that he is promising and has improved each year that he has been in the league, but will he develop the jump shot that will kill defenders? Will we see another disappearing act in the play offs? Will he make an all star appearance this year?

Or does this put us in a position similar to the one we just came out of.. high salaries and no results (2004)? And what about Andre Miller next year?

All I know is... Iggy better have his best season ever!!!

The Atlanta Hawks wasted no time in matching the Memphis Grizzlies offer to Josh Smith. So in reality the Hawks only lost Josh Childress, who was a major contributor in last years play off run. However, it is still a win-win for both sides... Josh gets his money and da Hawks get Josh...

Big ups to Atlanta for steppin up....

Ok the Eagles have finished their first pre-season game. They seemed a little rusty, but this was good work...Plus everybody wasnt on the field that would have made a difference... The defense needs more work stopping the run... McNabb looks good... and fresh... I would like to see him do it against a #1 defense, but he definitely showed up... DeSean Jackson was impressive... and so was Trevor Laws.... Akeem Jordan was good.. Joe Mays... and a lot others...

Overall I liked what I saw... Cant wait til the season opener... In the meanwhile... Im grateful for preseason work...

What is your assessment after preseason game one???

I just heard that Jason Smith tore the ACL in his left knee and could miss most of the season... A torn ACL could take only four to six months, but in most cases its longer.

What does this mean for the Sixers? Is Speights going to play the back up center?

After playing possom, the Grizzlies have made an offer worth $58 million to Josh Smith. Atlanta has 7 days to match it, but will they with Josh Smiths negitivity about returning to ATL???

If Atlanta doesnt match the offer... Where does that put the Grizzlies?

Ok... the Clippers made a move today to pick up free-agent point guard Jason Williams... Thats right, White Chocolate in a Clipper uniform... This is actually a good pick up for them in the light of not resigning Shaun Livingston... and with players goin' overseas and all...

So to date the Clippers have picked up Baron Davis, Marcus Camby, Rick Davis, Jason Hart, Brian Skinner, Steve Novak, and of course their first rd draft pick Eric Gordon...

But even with all the new additions...can they recover from the lost of Corey Maggette and Elton Brand?

Now, they are going to have a nice year and make the playoffs... but my burning question is: Did their moves come a bit too late???

Ok. It is not official yet, but sources say that Lou Will has agreed to stay with the 76ers. The deal is said to be a five-year deal worth $25 million... Whew!!! what a sign of relief... Much respect for Lou Will for wanting to stay home...

Ramirez has been traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Red Sox are scheduled to pay the remaining $7 million on Mannys contract. Jason Bay is going to Boston and da Pirates get four minor leaguers??? Who worked this one out???

Everybody seems to be getting their money these days no matter what they are really worth. This puts pressure on other teams to do the same... There are several players that have signed for $50 million and above... some are worth it and some are not... Here are a few of the recent signings:

Baron Davis took a pay cut by signing for $65 mil

Andrew Bogut got $60 mil...

Corey Maggette for $50 mil..

Gilbert Arenas signed for a whopping $111 mil

Elton Brand signed for about $80

Monta Ellis signed for $67 mil... which was one of the largest raises for the NBA from one season to the next

Okafor got $72 mil

Biedrins for $62 mil

Deng just signed a deal worth $70 mil

My question is.... Who is next to get the big deal? Josh Smith or Iggy?

It looks like T-Mac may be getting out of the first round of the playoffs this year after what the Rockets just pulled off... They just traded Bobby Jackson, Donte Green (this years pick) and a 2009 1st rd pick for Ron Artest... Is that all it took? WOW.. this is unbelievable...

Brian Westbrook has hired a new agent to handle the negotiations after a stand still with his previous agent. Why did the negotiations stall? What is the hold up? B-West is a beast and deserves to be compensated, but will the Eagles pay? Im wondering if the Eagles realize his worth.? We had the same issues last year when there were talks of B-West not coming to training camp and wanting more money, etc... Lets not go through the same thing this year...

Lets not risk going through a long and drawn out "holdout"...Give him his money and lets have a great season!!!

Word on the street is that Iggy is asking for a 5 year, 65 mil deal... Is he serious? After shooting less than 25% in the playoffs? Ok... you have improved each year... you did average 20 ppg, 5 rpg, and 5 apg... and you are only 24 and can jump out of the gym... but com' on...

So what you're tellin' me is that you're as good as Baron Davis??? Please... just sign the contract... or try and solicit for the Grizzlies to sign you... cause they are the only ones that have that type of money... and if you dont sign... then just sign the tender so that you can be a unrestricted free agent next year... and we will see how many offers you get with everybody going after Lebron and D-wade...

Here are some other players that arent making 13 mil, that are better than you or at least just as good... Gerald Wallace (8.2), Josh Howard (10), Tayshaun Prince (9.5), Richard Hamilton (10.5), Corey Maggette (10), Rudy Gay (2.5), Mike Miller (9), David West (9.8), L. Barbosa (6.1), Kevin Martin (9.2), Ron Artest (8.4), Tony Parker (11.5), Manu Ginobli (10), Carlos Boozer (11.5), Caron Butler (9)... and I could continue but what is the point...

Sign the contract... the offer is probably exactly what youre worth and maybe a little more!!!
