Gary Shaw's Days might be Numbered at ProElite

With others in the company playing a more active role in the organization, and CBS having a bigger influence on the organization its possible that Gary might be out by the end of summer. Santa Monica Capital Partners, the largest shareholder in the company is playing a more active role in the company and defer on some of the company moves.

Although Gary has done a lot to help the organization grow, there might not be a market room for another Dana White. Dana White is both good and bad for his company, i'd say more so leaning towards the bad. Thats why they're bringing in one of the fertitta brothers to co-manage the organization because they constantly have to take measures to implement damage control. With Elite XC's recent debacle at the CBS show, i think the shareholders and upper management are feeling the need to do some damage control.

The company has gotten grown to the point where one person, Gary Shaw, can't run all the strategy and upper management decisions himself.

Cung Le,"A Couple More Fights in Me"

Cung Le defeated Frank Shamrock to get the Strikeforce middleweight title. Since then, phones have been ringing, his gym is an even bigger pin point on the map, and he's a bigger icon in San Jose than prior. He has also landed his biggest movie gig, co-starring with Dennis Quaid. He stated in a recent interview that he's done a lot for martial arts and he's happy with where he's at. He said that he has a couple more fights left in him and will finish up.

Anderson Silva will probably never happen for Cung Le, two different organizations and Anderson is moving up to 205. In my opinion if Cung Le retired after the next couple fights I'll be happy. I think he's quite accomplished in both MMA and kickboxing.

Brandon Vera Explains why he's ducking Machida

He said that he was offered to fight Wanderlei Silva, Dan Henderson, and Lyoto Machida. He said that Dan and Wanderlei were not in shape, but Machida is someone who he would like to get extra time to get ready for him.

This is being too soon of a time frame to get ready for an elite fighter.

Brandon decided to go down to 205 as a favor. Dana White asked him to come down, and Brandon Vera said yes. But he's not done with Fabricio. He has unfinished business with Fabricio.

big John on Referee'ing

"I quit reffing because I was disappointed in some of the things that were happening in the sport....I've been offered a lot of chances to comeback. I haven't taken them yet, but yeah, eventually I'll come back to refereeing because I love it."

Matt Serra "I'm Not Losing to Him"

Matt Serra doesn't want to lose to Matt Hughes. He hates the guy. Hughes called him out after his loss to Silva. Serra joked around that he had the post-loss speech written before the fight.

Matt is just coming back from an injury that sidelined him since the GSP title fight. He damaged a nerve that made his arm completely numb. He said it happened with the first or second elbow he threw in the whole fight.

These two fighters are no longer at the top of the contender list and aren't looking to get a title shot anytime soon. But this fight still weighs heavy on the interest of TUF fans. This fight should have happened a long time ago and the hype / anticipation of this actually happening is interesting.

Jeff Shamrock Signs with Strikeforce

Jeff Shamrock, the 18yr old nephew of ken shamrock, just signed with Strikeforce. What is the world coming to? Another Shamrock, Ken's side, moving into MMA. That could go two ways.....we can get another Frank, or even worse Ken. feel free to flame me.

He drew this picture when he was still in school.

Amir Sadollah Talks TUF Win

Amir says the chicks are pouring out of nowhere to talk to him...as well as some dudes. Amir has never fought a pro fight before joining TUF and it was a trial by fire for him. He suffered an injury against Matt Brown that gave him dizzy spells, and his future was uncertain for a bit because he thought he had brain damage. he fought through it and eventually won the TUF title.

Amir is considering a drop to welterweight because he says he's a small middleweight.

Bobby Southworth Wins, Wants Babalu

Bobby won his fight against Anthony Ruiz last night at San Jose. Bobby fights for the checks, no other reason. He says that he can get bigger paychecks by fighting better fighters. He sees that Babalu could potentially give him in a nice payday.

He might have a possible showdown with Babalu in September. Bobby, one thing about fighting better fighters is they inflict higher medical costs, keep that in mind.

Strikeforce Melendez Post Fight Interview

Gilbert Melendez and Josh Thomson fought for the Strikeforce Lightweight title last night. Surprisingly, Josh Thomson won the fight with a unanimous decision 50-45. Josh was an underdog heading into this fight. This is the post fight press conference, audio only, featuring both fighters.

Wanderlei Silva Vs Thiago Silva Possible for October.

Thiago Silva has been on a tear boasting a 13 fight win-streak and running through Houston Alexander. Wanderlei Silva is slated to fight on July 19th, he tore up Keith Jardine, and had a legendary fight with Chuck Liddell. I think this is going to be a good fight. If thiago gets Silva to the ground, i think Silva has good enough jiu jitsu skills to hang. we saw Thiago struggle in his last fight standing up so Wanderlei has the advantage and will win in my opinion.

Brandon Vera Ducking Machida

Brandon Vera was offered to fight Lyoto Machida for his 205 debut but declined. Instead he will be fighting UFC new comer Reese Andy. Lyoto has been on a tear and this being Brandon's first fight at 205, i dont blame him for not wanting to fight the best right away. Brandon has also lost 2 fights in a row and could use a warm up fight.

Karo Parisyan Getting back on the horse Despite Loss

Karo Parisyan argued that Wanderlei Silva and Chuck Liddell both had losses in 2006 and 2007 and were still considered the best in the world. Despite his loss to Thiago Alves he still thinks he's right up there. He fights again in September
