As a hack, training desperately to run 7-minute mile pace in a December marathon, I am shocked and awed by Lance Armstrong's feats of strength this week...

1. He's supposedly fooling around with one of the Olsen twins. Gross, but quite a feather in the cap of the old man.

2. He ran a 2:46 marathon today.

Wow. Impressive...tiring week for any mortal. Just another week for Lance.

According to his quote in The Merc today, Mike Nolan thinks that if you build a team based character..."you're just going to end up with a lily-white team that doesn't beat anybody."

Of course he was talking about his black WR, Antonio Bryant. Either that's THE WORST choice of words i've ever heard from a head coach...or...this guy is a racist.

Looks like Houston cops are up to some serious racial profiling. If someone has a better explanation for how a guy gets pulled over for "looking suspicious" and the cops noticed he was missing a front license plate (how they saw that while following the car is hard to figure out), i would love to hear it.

i can't believe the Discovery Channel team has signed Ivan Basso (the former Giro d'Italia winner). in case you don't follow cycling, Basso was one of many pro riders implicated in the Spanish doping scandal earlier this year. they've essentially dropped the case against him for lack of solid evidence...but his name is still tarnished goods. so i think it's pretty crazy for Discovery to want him associated with their brand!

they just postponed Game 5 cuz of the rain. so, my big question is...how's this extra rest gonna help Glavine and Weaver (who now get normal rest)? Is this gonna help or hurt the NL Pennant winner vs the rested/rusty Tigers?

as a ucsb student...i've seen people do really gross things at parties. but i have never, ever seen my drunk boss take a shit in the corner to clear out a room. so i guess that's just one more thing Dave Stewart has done that i have not.
