The Spurs Sizzle the Suns

Its over ladies and gentleman, the 2007-2008 Phoenix Suns Basketball Season is OVER, that O-V-E-R! After getting eliminated out of the playoffs by them for the past couple of years, the phrase "Spurs eliminate Suns" really doesn't have much of an effect any more, especially after coming to the realization of how poorly the suns have been playing the past couple of months.

I wont go as far to say that the shaq trade hurt the suns, because its clearly evident that it had no effect on the suns, other than slow down the leagues fastest team. In hindsite, the trade really benefited the suns for the 2008-2009 Suns Season. Now with all this extra time for the suns (and whoever there coach is--hope its d'antoni), i suggest that the suns do very simple things that separate the champions from the runners up. That one major thing can even be spelt by a first grader: B E N C H. With the suns bench being 7 or 8 deep, the suns need to get a bench that once shaq or amare get in foul trouble, theres someone to step in there and do work, as big black would say. One person i believe the suns should get is Brook Lopez. Now that might be a stretch but its clearly worth it, to have another 7 footer take on duncan or any other dominant big man in the west ( is there any one else?)

Other than that, the suns are clearly in a point for next year to finally break through that barrier. Till Next time.

It's Not Over, But We Are Ready

thank you phoenix suns, thank you. i can say that all day long . i dont mean to say its about time because ever since you traded for shaq, this is what we expected for you. this situation is just like a maturing young man. you have so much expectations that when he doesnt seem to fulfill those expectations, you get disappointed. but once he does fulfill those expecations, things are finally falling into place. And from watching game four vs the sterns, oops i mean spurs, its clearly evident how you found a way to put a dent into the rock that was the san antonio sterns, what has gotten into me i mean spurs.

Maybe you have been reading my blog on learning how to stop the big three, or maybe shaq elbowed all of you during saturdays practice, but it was clearly evident in the first quarter that even though the odds were high, you werent giving up without a fight.

And on behalf of Suns fans every where, thank you, finally, and any other word that can describe the emotion that you just bestowed upon the phoenix suns nation. You were given a piece of the chocolate bar of beating the spurs, so now if you were truly an american, you want that whole chocolate bar. But in order to do that, its on to san antonio to take another chunk. Game Five, Shut em up!

Stopping The Spurs is Easy As...

If you read my recent blog, i said that game one was the best game one ever. but game two was a whole different story, the series went from an exciting future to a series not living up to expectations. Six minutes and five seconds without scoring a basketball by the most exciting team in the NBA year this year, was quite possibly the most boring and infuriating six minutes of basketball ive had to endure in quite some time.

Some might say well the spurs just executed and the suns didnt, and i say thats true. But if any of you watched the game, the suns had 3 times as many chances to get back into the lead during that stretch, whiles the entire spurs offense consisted of rebounds by the spurs and giving it to tony parker and letting him do what he does best , just driving to the lane.

Game three is a must win for the suns, everyone who wants the suns to win knows that. In game three, the suns need to come out and don't talk any (expletive) from any of those spurs. They need to spend tomorrow (once they get back) in their underground practice court hitting j's and working on their threes (im talking to you Steve Nash STEP UP).

But the one thing i am looking forward to, are the loud boos coming from me and the phoenix suns fans. Robert Horry is going to get this (expletive) tossed every second of the game, similar to a high school crowd booing the star player of an opposing squad.

I leave you with this (whoever reads my blog), Game Three-Its Now or Never.

The Reason Why Basketball is Awesome

Sports commentators start out the game usually introducing facts on the team that wins game one goes on to win the series so many times. but the belief about the game one match up in the 2008 Western Conference quarterfinal's between the phoenix suns and San Antonio spurs definitely doesn't live up to that fact one bit, and this is why.

Game one just proved that this is going to be one hard, long, and rigorous series that is way overrated to be happening in the first round. With the 117 to 115 Spurs victory over the Suns, the interest of playoff basketball on a average fan just jumped from the mere head peek at the score interest level to the full blown eyes not moving from the tv,biting of the nails, nothing can keep you away interest level. And the most awesome reason why basketball is well....awesome. A Game like this embodies the spirit that the sport of basketball can invoke on everybody, whether your an avid fan (like myself) or just someone who just knows that basketball is popular. I know its been said that basketball, along with all other sporting events, can bring people together for one reason and to forget everything else, whether it be negative or positive. The fact is that this game lived up to that, and way beyond it. As for the game itself, i.e. emotions, as a fan i can look at the good and bads of both actions taken by the Suns and Spurs. But i am a big Phoenix fan, and i personally believe that the Suns should have won the game. The statistics show that every major player had a big game, except Shaq, but there were certain events that could have changed the game that didn't involve the people it should have involved. The three pointer that Steve Nash hit in the corner should have came earlier in the game, instead of at the most desperate at times.

But I'll give credit where credit is dude, the Spurs played a well fought game. I thought I'd never see the day where i hear "Tim Duncan for three". Manu Ginobli definitely stepped up when Tony Parker fouled out, so props go to that guy, as much it hurts me to say that as a Phoenix Suns TRUE fan.

All in all, the game was one for the ages. If this game took place in the finals, it would rank up there right with "the greatest game ever played" between the Suns and Celtics where Gar Heard hit the shot that lives in every true suns fans minds. As for my message to both the Suns and Spurs, I can't wait till game two, as well as every other person that watched that game.
