You know we live in a special world when kids we know grow up and realize their dreams of playing football in the NFL.

One of my dearest friends passed away recently, but not before expressing his joy that his nephew would be playing football on Sundays on TV.

Then there is this neighborhood kid who pretty much was the pride of our high school football team. He went on to play in college and got drafted in the 2nd round by an NFL team.

Who would have ever guessed that both of these fellas would be Detroit Lions on this very special day!
