Major League Superstars are among the elite. There is a reason that the final showdown is referred to as the "World Series," and that reason is the fact that major league athletes are considered some of the most talented competitors in the whole world. However, the fundamentals of hard work, training, and dedication that are required do not come easy.

As one of America's greatest pastimes, the game of baseball has evolved since it was first started in the mid 1800's. The style that we have grown accustomed to watching and playing today is extremely different from the past. The manufacturing of the balls is more complex, a few of the rules have changed, and the different field constructions provide for extreme variation. However, one factor that has changed the game significantly since it originated usually goes unconsidered. That factor is the simple adoption of the baseball glove.

It is quite obvious that this free agent market is one of the thinnest. With very few impact players available, it is going to be hard for organizations to improve their teams by scouting other talent. However, what teams fail to realize is that there are other players who can make a difference besides Johan Santana, Tori Hunter, and A-Rod.

Baseball cards. Jerseys. Posters. These are some of the few items that make up a fan's collection. While supporting our favorite teams and players is a part of the pastime, we sometimes get sick of spending money on the same old items.

Opened in 1962, Dodger Stadium is located in the heart of Los Angeles and is home to one of baseball's greatest franchises. The field overlooks beautiful downtown Los Angeles, and surprisingly it has never changed capacity. It currently seats 56,000, making it one of the largest parks to date.

American League or National League? You take your pick. It is clear that these two factions differ from each other in many aspects of the game, primarily due to the fact that the National League does not utilize an every day designated hitter. But are DH's good or bad for the game?

After breaking the prestigious all-time home run record, Barry Bonds must have felt on top of the baseball world. Little did he know that months later the Grand Jury would have something to say about his alleged steroid consumption.

We all know that baseball is a game of inches, from foul or fair, safe or out, and strike or ball. Consequently, it can be difficult at times for officials to make the correct calls. Unfortunately, certain teams can suffer when a call is made against them, and we all know how important one game of baseball in the MLB can be down the stretch.

We are a few weeks into the off-season, and the free agent market is already thinning. When it appeared that Curt Schilling had served his last days at Fenway Park, Red Sox representatives announced that Schilling will be returning to Boston next season. The two parties agreed upon a 1-year, $8 million deal.

Ridiculous. Outrageous. Unimaginable. These are just a few of the adjectives used to describe the contracts that free agents are receiving in the current baseball market. Teams are throwing out all kinds of money to acquire the players that they feel will have a significant impact for their organization.

The off-season has officially begun. Superstars all around the league have filed for free agency, and now that the World Series has come to a conclusion, it won't be long before we see blockbuster contracts being tossed out to the hottest free agents. The New York Yankees have already shocked the baseball world by announcing that they have hired ex-Yankee Joe Girardi as their new manager.

It seems that as every major league season passes, more and more players are added to the list of possible performance-enhancing drug users. Sadly, the effect of this misuse has impacted the credibility of the game in such a way that numerous records are now being questioned. Will major league officials take the appropriate measures and impose penalties on players who have been linked with steroid abuse?
