The final score read Green Bay 48, Detroit 25. However, the game was a whole lot closer than the score indicates. That is, until
Jon Kitna gift wrapped the game for the Packers complete with a big red bow.
The Lions took the lead with a bit under 8 minutes to go in the game 25 - 24. Green Bay managed to mount a bit of drive and with a little over 5 minutes to go, kicked a field goal to take a 27 - 24 lead. On Detroit's next three possessions, Kitna threw three interceptions, two of them returned for TDs. All three of those passes were absolutely horrendous passes. None had a chance of completion. In the span of three minutes, thanks to those picks, the Packers were now up 48 - 25.
