I was actually quite pleased with Mr. Timberlake's ability to show that he can do more than just sing and dance. He's actually pretty funny and proved it at the ESPYS. I didn't watch the whole thing throughout, but watched parts of the show on Sunday and Monday. Of what I did see, I could've predicted who would get a couple of the awards like Best Female Athlete (CP of course...this year) and Best Team. I knew that it had to be either the Giants or the Celtics. Either way, everyone who received their awards deserved them...except " Tiger Woods". Will Ferrell was hilarious as he accepted the Best Male Athlete award AS Tiger Woods. But if Tiger REALLY accepted his award with such conceite, he probably would've been booed of the stage. And what's up with all of the celebs? It seemed like more actors and performers were there than athletes. Oh, well. Maybe the producers were trying to find a way to get more people to watch the show. Here's one suggestion...don't show the awards during the same time as really popular shows!

Saturday was yet another great home game, but not much support for the Stars...or the Lynx for that matter. The Lynx is another one of my favorites, but I pretty much cheered for both teams. Regardless, it was a pretty good game for SA. The after-game performance was also pretty good.

Man! I've been slackin'. I guess I was just ticked off 'cause my Spurs didn't make it to the championship. But they can't win them all and I am quite delighted that Boston spanked the Lakers! My household was definitely divided during those games because I love the Spurs and my significant other is a die-hard Lakers fan. But since I also have roots in Mass., I went for "green" after my team's defeat. The Celtics definitely did their thing...but now I'm focusing on the WNBA.
Last week's game at home was VERY close. San Antonio Stars shouldn't have let L.A. Sparks catch back up. I think if there had been more time, the Sparks would've ended up taking it. I was pretty amazed how packed it was at the AT&T Center...but of course some folks were there to see CP. Candace "and company" pulled their weight for the most part, but Becky Hammon, Sophia Young, and the rest of the Stars showed them how it's done. One thing for sure is if the Sparks play in SA again, I'm definitely going and look forward to this Saturday's game against the Lynx.

My team is doing great once again. Although I missed tonight's game, I can tell by the score that they did rather well. Too many people underestimate and hate on the Spurs just because of their great record. But it's all about communication and teamwork. I won't say any names, but some teams still need to learn this concept. And the owners can't expect their team to great just because they have a "star player".

I can't wait till Sunday. But I'm torn. I'm a Tiger & Vol fan...but I'd reallly like LSU to win because they've had to kind of start over with a new coach, haven't won a championship yet (I don't think), and might not do too well after their seniors leave. Not to say that they're not in good hands with Vance Chancelor...but who knows how long it will take to reconnect a team with a bunch of new players. On the other hand, I think the Tennessee is awesome...especially Parker. She's definitely going to do well in the WNBA. And Pat Summit is the ultimate coach...male or female. Well, we'll see "who reigns supreme" in a few days. Cheers!

I was just browsing around ESPN this morning and saw this link about the Sonics leaving Seattle. I don't get it. They already have a great venue to play in (went there 2 winters ago and it's in very good condition), great fans, and I'm sure the organization's/affiliates are making some good money from the franchise. So, why is the owner trying to make the city pay for a new arena? Greed, stupidity? I think so. The Key Arena is only 12+ years old and is practically located in the middle of downtown. It's always about money...

Manu's been VERY hot lately. And with Tony back in the mix, I'd say they're definitely in a good way. Sure, the Hornets have been on top of their game, but the play-offs haven't started yet. And we all know that the top teams turn it up when a championship is on the line.

I think tonight's game will be very exciting. And although Shaq is getting up in age, I think he still has what it takes to help his new team get to the play-offs. But we'll see how well the Suns gel together pretty soon.

For the past few days, I've been hearing that Jason Kidd might be going to the Mavericks. I think it would be a good move for his career...if it happens. But that's also a big move for his family if they decide to make Texas their home. Whatever the outcome, I'm sure it will benefit everyone. The linked article was published today via ESPN.

Wow! Last night's All Star game was one of the best I've seen. I thought from after the half that the East definitely had the West beat. But I guess when you're trying to defend your title, you crank it up at the end. Unfortunate for the West, it was not enough. Oh well, there's always next year and hopefully I'll make it to one.
