Double Amputee Trys Again To Qualify for Olympics

Oscar Pistorius is determined. Once again the South African sprinter attempted to qualify for the Olympic Games in Beijing. Although the controversial double-amputee did not make the standard for 400m (45.55) he did better his 47.78 performance posted at last week Milan.

Pistorius flew around the oval at the Golden Gala meet in Rome, Italy in a blazing 46.62. He final attempt to meet the 400m time standard will most likely take place next week in Lucerne, Switzerland.

Even if the sprinter does not make the standard it is still possible he may be selected to represent South Africa as a member of the 4x400m relay.
