Lous first big move to Resign

CHICAGO--During his formal introduction as Cubs manager Tuesday, Lou Piniella announced that his first and only managerial decision will be to step down immediately and permanently from his new position--a bold, unexpected move that he successfully carried out just moments later. "My time in Chicago has been great, and it feels like it was just yesterday that I started this job, but I truly believe that this move will give me a better opportunity to win," Piniella said at the press conference while ceremoniously removing a Cubs hat and jersey. "I'm very excited about leaving this team." After the announcement, Cubs GM Jim Hendry praised Piniella's sound judgment and pure baseball instinct, saying that "his ability to make quick, smart decisions like this one is exactly why we hired him."

Radar guns Broken?

If you look at the radar guns speeds this playoff and at any MLB game or just on telivision they seem to be set to show a higher speed than it is except maybe with knuckleballers which they do teh oppisite. If some guy hits 103 MPH or something than great but if hes throwing 97 MPH than thats just retarted. Its not imppresive to have high speeds when theyre not being thrown. What do you think?

Latest technology enchances playoffs

FOX has a new system called fox track which allows them to see the pitch speed at release and when it crosses the pitch, it also lets you see the velocity of the pitch the path and even when the ball breaks, this is very cool stuff, it is a little much but Fox should think about using it during big reguler season games, it defintly enchances the game.

BIg Unit scheduled for Back Surgery

NEW YORK Yankees pitcher Randy Johnson is scheduled for surgery to repair a herniated disc in his back.

The injury hampered the left-hander during the final weeks of the season.

Yankees general manager Brian Cashman says that the surgery would put Johnson behind the other pitcher when spring training starts in February.

However, Johnson's agent, Barry Meister says the Big Unit will be ready.

The 43-year old Johnson went 17-and-11 with a five-point-00 e-r-a in 33 starts this season.
