Join PoL for the Big Game.

Tomorrow #5 Texas and #1 Oklahoma will meet in the Cotton Bowl.

It's quite possibly the greatest rivalry in all of sports and it contains major implications for the rest of the college football landscape.

We've decided to have a little online watching party here at Pyle of List hosted by our very own Philguard.

For those of you who might forget here's a way to send yourself a reminder.

I might actually like Terrell Owens, who woulda thought...

I'll be very honest with you. As you probably know by now, I'm a huge Cowboys fan. That being said I've never been real excited about Terrell Owens. He is a fantastic football player. His work ethic and preparation are unquestioned throughout the league. But he's also always been a "ME" guy. So much so that in an interview on ESPN several years ago he made the comment, "I love ME some ME." while wearing an I (heart) TO shirt.

We make all your Fantasies come true.

Here at Pyle of List we know the pull of Fantasy Football. We are also champions. That's right PoL is defending one league championship and the majority of us have extensive experience in the FF world.

Well nowadays it seems any idiot with a couple of minutes and a space to answer a few questions can be a Fantasy expert. Well...we're any idiot, we have a couple of minutes and Pyle of List provides us with some space so we've decided to throw our hat into the expert ring with our own brand of advise. Feel free to e-mail us at philguard@pyleoflist.com for your fantasy questions.

Pain is weakness leaving the body, right?

That's what those "No Fear" shirts everybody in wore in the 90's said.

Well, last night my wife and I entered the world of new mountain bike owners. We didn't go overboard...in fact the opposite because anyone I've talked to that does the bike thing all seem to agree on one thing, don't buy a Wal-mart bike. Which is what we did. I rode home from the store last night (about four miles) and I woke up this morning and tooled around to the tune of another 6 miles. And I HURT.

All Aboard the Karma Train...Next stop, Foxboro.

Do you believe in Karma? Bill Belichick and the New England are about to.

Now while I've never claimed to comprehend religion or philosophy, I got this Karma thing. Do good things and good things happen to you and vice versa. Thanks to some wonderful writers who bring us "My Name is Earl" for the explaination.

So what does that have to do with the Pats?

15 year olds with Photoshop should not be designing Professional sports logos.

It's official. After several people asked over the holiday weekend, Clay Bennett and crew realized they still didn't have a name, logo, colors or team concept.

So after a 20 minute board meeting where everybody searched ESPN.com and Rootzoo on there Wi-fi capable laptops for ideas they settled on the Oklahoma City Thunder.

A Different Take On The Big Sports Story Of The Day.

lockerroomoflife.com is my new Christian sports blog. I wanted my fellow Zooers to take a look, so I brought over my latest article regarding Adam Jones' reinstatement.

The NFL has decided that embattled Defensive Back Adam "Pacman" Jones can come back and play after being suspended for the past 16 months. The suspension was handed down after 10 separate run ins with the law. But he says he's learned for all the past mistakes and is ready to be a model representative of the NFL.

"Jet" Favre

I cannot believe I beat ESPN.com to that headline.

So, Favre is now in the NFL's largest media market. Yea. And if your thinking it's finally over, no sir.

The Tuna and High Times Carter together again?

Bill Parcells and the Dolphins have made a promise to fans to look everywhere to find a viable quarterback. So in keeping with that promise the Tuna has brought Quincy Carter in to camp for a workout.

Brett, Packers Fans….we need to talk….

Alright…here we go again. So Brett Favre is still not sure what he wants. One day he's retired, the next he wants to return to Green Bay, day after that he wants the Packers to grant him an unconditional release, presumably so he can sign elsewhere.

On top of that you have fans rallying together, literally, behind Favre. Adam and Erick Rolfson organized a rally outside of Lambeau Field on Sunday and will continue the rallies each week until Favre is reinstated as the starting signal caller. They have even gone so far as to call for an emergency meeting of stockholders to help "control the fate of our quarterback."

A few weeks ago I tried my best to give some advice to Shaq and Kobe so they could find some closure and move on. I again see a void of an impartial third party willing to step in and help the Packers fans and Brett make the best of this situation. I'm no mental health care professional but I'll do my best to talk some common sense here. (See Dr. Phil, that is all you have to do to avoid 85% of the problem you get into.)

Of soda and marketing with sports thrown in…

You've seen the new Mountain Dew ad campaign, yes? Dew-mocracy, three new flavors, one will stay forever.

I worry about the future when we get new flavors of soft drinks. As an avid Coca-cola drinker I wake up in cold sweats thinking about the introduction of new Coke in 85. The soft drink market is fickle. New Coke and Crystal Pepsi can do damage to the original brand. It got me thinking about the next generation products that are thrown at us that, not only fail, but drag down the original.

So, as a warning to Madison Avenue, I give you my top 5 next generations that ruined the original.

Sport or Not - #2 - Golf

After a resounding 10 person vote (what's the problem, it's not a presidential election, people) you the pyleoflist readers have decided….NASCAR is not a sport. Now, whether I agree or not (I do) the decision is made. I will no longer refer to a bunch of guys circling for 4 hours a sport. After all, Craftsman Dollar Days at the Sears can cause the same phenomena. Now we move on to a new topic. Faithful reader, help……
