ANOTHER BOLD PREDICTION: Philadelphia Eagles win NFC EAST...Complete Breakdown of Every Eagles Game this Year

I am going to give a complete breakdown of how the Philadelphia Eagles season will pan out this year game by game and even include scores.

Lets get things started shall we?

Week 1: @ the Linc vs. the St. Louis Rams

Many people believe this game will be a cake walk but I see things differently. Assuming Steven Jackson's contract issues are resolved by this point and he plays against the birds I see him running all over the young line backing crew we have this year. We will of course shut down Marc Bulger and his 3rd grade arm but it will be a close game thanks in part to Jackson's big day.

Final Score: Birds win 31-27

Week 2: Monday Night Football @ Dallas

First things first; I HATE TERRELL OWENS. He is such a whiny little girl. That folks is a fact. It is also a fact that he is one hell of a player and will get his in this game. BUT, with all three of our pro bowl caliber CB's and Brian Dawkins still roaming the field I think we neutralize TO and the Dallas offense. This will be a hard fought NFC battle but with the big three all stepping up to the plate and keeping Terrible Owens out of the end zone the birds will show the NFL what they can do this season.

Final Score: Birds win 17-10

Week 3: @ Home vs. the Steelers

It was a magical day back in 2004 as I wore my Eagles green into Pittsburgh's ugly yellow stadium. The birds were flying high with an undefeated run going and TO was still acting like an uncharacteristic gentleman until the Shellacking the Steelers put on us for our first loss of the season which was highlighted by TO barking in McNabb's ear, probably the beginning of what we all know inevitably happened. That was my only birds game of that year so needless to say I have an extra special hatred for the Steelers and again this game scares the hell out of me. Not only will it be a short week of practice and yes they will be on an emotional high pulling that one out in Dallas the previous week, but let's face it, the birds SUCK against the AFC. I also believe the Steelers got a huge steal of Rashard Mendenhall at #23, to me he was one of if not the best back in the draft. I think the combo of Mendenhall and Parker, AKA thunder and lightning, will be too much for the birds to handle and will come up on the short end of a short week.

Final Score: Birds loose 24-14

Week 4: @ Chicago on Sunday Night Football

Rex Grossman is a joke, which is an obvious fact. Not only that, he has even less to throw to this year with the departure of Bernard Berrian. I am not even going to waste any more time breaking down this game. The Eagles will avenge that horrible loss from last season and blow these bums out.

Final Score: Birds win 41-6

Week 5: @ the Linc vs. the Skins

For some reason these guys are overhyped every single freakin year, but with the addition of All Pro Jason Taylor could this be the year the hype in justified. I still don't think so. Every year these guys don't live up to the lofty expectations that are set for them. Clinton Portis isn't getting any younger and is Jason Campbell really their franchise QB? Trent Cole will make him eat some dirt by the time this game is over and done with. I'm feeling the first big time home win for the bird's fans to go nuts over and really get everyone excited about what this bird's team can do this year.

Final Score: Birds win 27-16

Week 6: @ San Francisco

This team is similar to the Skins for the fact that every year the so called 'experts' pick this team as their sleeper team, and every year they end up sleeping their way to the bottom half of the standings. Alex Smith is a fraud. He will never live up to his potential and with that being said neither will his team. Another big win for the bird's.

Final Score: Birds win again 21-7

Week 7: BYE WEEK

Week 8: @ Home vs. the Falcons

It is very simple since Andy Reid took over this team in '99 the Birds have NEVER lost the game following their bye week. This year will be no different as the birds will improve to 6-1. On a side note I do respect the Falcons for putting Mike Vick in their rear view mirror by drafting Philly boy Matt Ryan. I am hoping Ryan gets a chance to play by this point in the season because I actually played against Ryan when he was at Penn Charter. But that is neither here nor there. I do however feel the Falcons won't go down without a fight.

Final Score: Eagles win 17-13

Week 9: @ Seattle

Seattle is one of the toughest places to play in the NFL. I don't know if it is how the sound of the crowd bounces around that stadium or what because I don't see how fans from Seattle are that loud. The Eagles could very well go into Seattle and beat this team but I have a feeling Seattle and their stadium (I'm not going to give credit to their fans, who can't even keep an NBA team) is going to be too much for the birds especially with the Giants lurking the following week.

Final Score: Tough loss for the Eagles 27-23

Week 10: @ the Linc vs. The Giants

Super bowl MVP Eli Manning and the New York Giants come to town. Wait a second that is the very last thing I thought I would ever hear in front of the name Eli Manning. He is still a bum and thanks to that unbelievable defense and the simple fact he was the QB on the team that one he kind of won the award by default. The Giants are going to come back to reality this season and will have already start out the season struggling and that will continue here as the Eagles will be chomping at the bits for this team.

Final Score: Birds win big and keep SHEli out of the end zone 30-6

Week 11: @ Cincy

This team has players but stinks. They have all the best players but what they don't have is the right players. Their wide receiving corp. is one of the best in the league and with Carson Palmer throwing to them they will be very dangerous again. But who knows where Ocho Cinco and Chris Henry will be by this time and even if they are playing I have confidence in the Eagles secondary to at the very least contain those guys and T.J. Housyourmamma.

Final Score: Eagles win again 21-16

Week 12: @ Baltimore

The Ravens are an enigma every year. I always see them on paper and in Madden and think this team is stacked, yet almost every year they seem to underachieve. After an abysmal 5-11 season last year I feel like this year they will play more like the 13-3 team from 2006. With the two headed BEAST of Willis McGahee and Rookie Ray Rice it will take a lot of pressure on whoever ends up as the QB of this team.

Final Score: Another loss for the Birds to the AFC 17-10

Week 13: @ Philly vs. the Cardinals

After a last place finish in just about every year for the past 5 years the 8-8 season these guys had last season was very promising. The edge is not getting any younger and it doesn't look like Anquan Boldin will make it through the year in Arizona red or if he does seems to be unhappy about it. But again as bad as the Eagles WR's are in our eyes the secondary matches up well with any group of WR's in the league.

Final Score: Even with the short week I don't see back to back loses Birds win a boring nail biter (if there is such a thing) 10-7

Week--: @ New York

I hate the North Jersey/New York City fan base. YOU HAVE 9 PRO TEAMS IN THE 4 MAJOR SPORTS. Of course you are bound to win a championship every once in a while and when that team wins all of sudden every one in the surrounding News York area is the number one fan. I'm sure if the Buffalo Bills had won the super bowl people from New York would claim they shared a state with the team so they are their new favorite team. The Eagles are going to sweep the Giants this year and put New York City in its place.

Final Score: 105-0, yes I hate the Giants and their fan base that much that I truly believe that will be the final scorea€¦ok fine ill go with a more realistic steal of a win at 16-13

Week 15: @ the Linc vs. Cleveland

This team looks good on paper but I think this is going to be the team that all the so called experts on ESPN claim as their "sleeper team" that ends up sucking. By this time I think the Browns will fighting to reach .500 and the Eagles will have their first blow out in a while.

Final Score: Birds win 35-9

Week 16: @ Washington

By this time Jason Taylor will already be talking about what movies he will be starring in, not because the team will be terrible, just because he is Jason Taylor and full of himself. I feel that again every team in the NFC East will be over .500 this year and the Eagles will be sleeping through this game as this could be the game that clinches the division.

Final Score: That clinching win is going to have be put on hold for another week in a showdown game with the Cowboys as they loose this game 19-17

Week 17: Season Finale/Game of the Year @ Home vs. the Dallas Cowgirls

The cowboys are going to want to avenge that week 2 loss and what better way to do it then in this one game playoff for the division title. I have to reiterate I hate Terrell Owens but I feel this game with all that is on the line is going to be an offensively powered game. As stellar as these two defenses are these two teams are going to come out firing and be very crisp on offense because both teams want that title. I see this offensive powered game ending in a huge defensive pick 6 by the best offseason acquisition in the NFC Asante Samuel.

Final Score: The Eagles clinch the division with a 41-38 win!

NFC East Final Standings:

Philadelphia Eagles 12-4

Dallas Cowboys 11-5

Washington Redskins 9-7

New York Giants 8-8

Well that wraps up the 2008/2009 season with the birds winning the NFC East at 12-4. That is a very realistic record for this talented team. 5-1 in this tough division is certainly going to be difficult to accomplish but being a Philly Homer I have faith in my team.

Let's have one more good run with Donovan because he has been the best Quarter Back the Philadelphia Eagles franchise has ever had. He will have his swagger back this year and dominate the league.

Say it with me now Eagles fansa€¦

E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES

MY BOLD PREDICTION: Philadelphia 76ers Will Have the Best Record in the NBA Next Season

I know there is a lot of hype about all the Sixers have done this offseason, especially in Philly, as well there should be. The signing of Elton Brand instantly made the Sixers contenders in the East, that is undeniable fact. The Sixers had quite a few pieces of the puzzle to figure out after this huge acquisition.

#1: Keep restricted free agent Andre Iguodala in a Sixer uniform.

They finally sealed this deal to the tune of 6 years around $80 mil. Now that seems like a lot of money for a player that struggled in the playoffs scoring a mere 13.2 ppg. But AI2 is a shutdown defender and at 6-6 207lbs is athletically sized to move from the Small Foward position to the starting Shooting Guard. He continues to increase his production in the regular season each year having a stellar 07-08 season at 19.9 ppg, 5.4 rpg, and 4.8 apg. He was also 6th in the league in steals with 2.09 per game. The only knock against Andre is his poor shooting at times especially from down town. We can all picture that shot he takes with a man in his face, the unnatural arms straight up in the air, elbows locked shot that 90% of the time is a brick or an airball. Well now picture this one, Iggy kicks the ball down low to Brand, defenders collapse, Brand kicks it back out to a wide open Iggy for a more natural elbows bent, perfect form shot that hits nothing but net. The addition of EB will give AI an opportunity to have a lot more space which will make him a better shooter.

#2: Keep restricted free agent Louis Williams in a Sixer uniform.

The 76ers stole this emerging young star off the market for a deal of 5 years $25 mil. Lou showed flashes of brilliance this season and is a perfect player off of the bench for this team. He is a little undersized at 6-2 175 lbs but he makes up for it in heart, quickness, and hustle which reminds me of a small guy we used to have...ok hes not quite that good but does have the potential to be somthing special.

#3: Add some bench players that can come in and contribute.

Ok so the first addition of Royal Ivey was a backpage headline but hey he does have a really cool name, and is actually a firey young player that could, at times, be a spark off the bench in the backcourt on days Andre Miller needs more time off. Not too many people are excited about the addition of Kareem Rush because he is not the sharpshooter we were looking for. I am here to tell you that he will have a great season off of the bench. He is well sized at 6-6 215 lbs, athletic, and quick. He certainly does not have the shot that Kyle Korver had here but he is much more athletic and not nearly as incompotent on defense. Not to mention he can certainly can shoot the ball as he is coming off a season he shot 38.9% from beyond the arc which is higher than Korver's average last season of 37.5%. Again with EB's presence down low that will only give Kareem more open looks from outside. So yes get excited about Kareem Rush because he will be a solid role player who can shoot the ball effectivly from long range.

With those pieces strongly entact there are a few other factors to this upcoming season...

#1: Will Thaddeus Young have one of those sophomore slump seasons?

The answer is absolutly not. Thad is the future superstar of this team. As his playing time increased through the season so did his production. Here are his ppg splits for each month; November:3.6 ppg, December:4.2 ppg, January:8.2 ppg, February:10.7 ppg, March:11.2 ppg, and April:11.1 ppg. So as you can see his numbers continued to climb throughout the year. With Iguodala moving to shooting guard he gets the opportunity to be the starting small foward and at the extremely young age of 20 the sky is the limit for this kid.

#2: Can Andre Miller be as productive as he has been?

He is not getting any younger but his team is, which helps him a lot because if he needs a breather coach Maurice Cheeks is now fully confident in LouWill and the addition of Royal Ivey. Not only has he been the most consistent Sixer since he came here in that Iverson deal, he is also a leader and makes all of the players around him on the court and provides knowledge for this young core. So even if his play on the court does slow down a bit his ability to help these young players mold will be essential to team development.

#3: Can Marreese Speights develop and possibly contribute this season?

The addition of Elton Brand just made this draft pick that much better. Under Brand's guidence he could develope into the exact type of low post presence Brand is. He comes from the prestigious program of the U. of Florida and is well sized at 6-10 245lbs. With the help of Cheeks and Brand and the fact that GM Ed Stefanski encourages Cheeks to play the young guys he could be a big contributor off the bench this season.

#4: Can Samuel Delembert continue to be a defensive force down low?

The answer to this question is he will be that and then some. I believe he could be the defensive player of the year. Hear me out before you say my claim is absurd. He was top 10 in rebounding at 10.4 per game and top 5 in blocked shots at 2.3 per game last year which is already great defensive numbers. He also averaged 10.5 ppg as the #1 option in the low post last season but with the acquisition of Elton Brand his services will no longer really be needed on offense. This allows him to solely focus on keeping the other team out of the paint on the defensive end and the offense he provide will be an added incentive. So look for SammyD to have a defensive player of the year type season this year.

Here is the projected starting lineup for the 08-09 Philadelphia 76ers:

PG: Andre Miller: Production will probably decrease a bit but he will still make everyone around him better.

SG: Andre Iguodala: The addition of Brand should give him more open looks and his shooting percentage should go up significantly.

SF: Thaddeus Young: If he continues to develope and has a breakout year the new big 3 could be here in Philly.

PF: Elton Brand: One if not the best low post player in the game, if he stays healthy watch out.

C: Samuel Dalembert: Could be a defensive force with the offensive post being taken care of by EB.

Off the bench:

Louis Williams: Provides spark off the bench with his Iverson like heart and quickness.

Willie Green: I believe this guy thinks he is better then he really is. He shoots (and misses) too many 3 pt shots with a terrible 28.5% from out there. But he did score 12.4 ppg last season and if he limits those long range shots and sticks to that mid range jumper he can be a contributor.

Kareem Rush: You read how I feel about this guy but it remains to be seen if I am right...

Royal Ivey: If Miller slows down this season he could be a key factor in what could become a 3 headed point guard role.

Reggie Evans: Not a very good player but has huge energy off the bench and somehow always gets the crowd roaring.

Marreese Speights: With the injury of Jason Smith Speights may need to step up this season.

Jason Smith: Tough injury because he could have been a main contributor off the bench with his size. Hopefully he can recovery and return to the team at some point this season.

It is undeniable that this team has a bright future with all of the young players they have and the vets that can help mold the team into a championship caliber team. It took the Celtics with their big 3superstars of Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, and Kevin Garnett one season to become the best. It is now the 76ers turn, with their big 3 of Elton Brand, Andre Iguodala, and Thaddeus Young, to become the best and remain there for years to come.

They had a Boston Three party in Celtic Land last year, can there be Brother Three Love in Philly this year?

COMPLETE FIRST HALF BREAKDOWN OF THE 2008 PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

I am going to give a complete breakdown of how the Philadelphia Eagles season will pan out this year game by game and even include scores.

Well that wraps up the first half of the season with the birds sitting at 6-1. I know that seems a little farfetched and I may just be an optimistic Eagles fan to think they will go into Dallas on Monday night and come out laughing at TO. But they have done that the past two seasons haven't they?

They have a much more difficult back 8 and i will work on that breakdown sometime later in the week and get it posted...

Rampage Jackson or a Navy Seal???

Who would win in the octagon? My friends and I have been debating this topic for a while. One side believes that the average Navy SEAL would defeat Rampage Jackson in the octagon claiming that Navy SEALS are the best of the best and would know how to knock him out with four fingers because of their superior intelligence. The other side believes Navy SEALS are not triained to fight one on one in a cage match without weapons against one of the best MMA fighters in the world and would not stand a chance.

We cannot resolve this debate with any inside logic, I am hoping you guys can help us out with some outside opinions...

YOU KNOW WHAT REALLY GRINDS MY GEARS??? How Philly fans are portrayed in the media especially on ESPN.

You know what really grinds my gears? How Philly fans are portrayed in the media especially on ESPN. OK sure we have thrown snowballs and Santa blah blah but think about it, Mr. Santa Claus needed a reality check, he sits up there on his high horse in the north pole all year and only has to do real work one day a year, and on top that he has the little people do all the real labor work for him. Fans of the Philadelphia Eagles have always been hard working physical labor kind of people so when they see a guy who makes the little people do all of his physical labor and works only one day a year, the instinct to pick the first thing in sight up and throw it at him kicks in, this time it just happened to be snow.

Seriously though why does the media continue to cover negative stories about Philly fans and not the positive ones. I am a diehard Philly fan and I go to a lot of sporting events and yes we can be harsh sometimes but we know our sports and are very passionate. We know when to give a player a standing ovation or when he needs to be booed.

There has been plenty of circumstances where Philly fans have gone above and beyond for players that either play here or are on the visiting team that have not been covered by the ever so great ESPN. If you guys have any stories about these particular time please feel free to post them.

I will lead it off with one. How about when Ken Griffey Jr. came to town this year sitting at 599 homers one away from the big 600 and the fans here in Philly were pulling for the guy to hit that milestone. When he flyed out deep to right in his final at bat of the series the Philly fans gave him a standing ovation and Griffey, unsure of what to do, came back out for the typical curtain call that is usually reserved for Chase Utley. Griffey didnt know how to respond and was in utter disbelief of how well the fans here treated him. His quote after the game of how that felt was simply put..."It was awesome."

I just want to stress this one more time, Philly fans cheer for the players that play the game right, Ken Griffey Jr., and boo the ones who dont, Barry Bonds.
