The
Detroit Tigers haven't yet learned from their mistakes, or errors. For the last few seasons the Tigers have put up with
Carlos Guillen's endless string of errors cuased mainly by poor glovework and bad throws. Despite having the best third baseman in the AL in
Brandon Inge, the Tigers have opted to go with Guillen at third even though he has proven he cannot handle short or first. Commiting his 3rd and 4th errors in a handfull of games, he blew what should have been a win on Sunday against the Twinkies. To make matters worse, the staff and the media have pinned the loss on the relievers, who had gotten the ground ball to end the inning until Guillen and his "hard-as-rock" hands got in the way. With the wins as hard as they for the Tigers I can't understand why he is still standing over there instead of Inge. He needs to be moved to DH or traded for more pitching. Bottom line his bat is good, but the Tigers have enough good bats, they need good gloves and good pitching to salvage this season. - Ryno
