Hold off any idea of another rookie holdout: the Raiders are trying to sign first-round draft pick Darren McFadden in blazing time.

The Raiders will meet with McFadden's agent, Ian Greengross, next week, and figures on both side of the aisle are saying a deal may be struck in June. No one is sharing numbers, but McFadden is expected to get a deal with somewhere between $22-30 million.

For those of you unfamiliar with Jerry, he's a writer for Inside Bay Area. He does a great job of giving very descriptive info on OTA's and Training camp. Here is his latest write-up.

A few snippets:

- Marques Tuiasosopo watched practice on the field with the Raiders Thursday at their organized team activity, renewing friendships and spending a lot of time with quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo.

-Kiffin said DeAngelo Hall had two interceptions at Wednesday's practice.

Linebacker Thomas Howard nearly took one back the other way in a red zone 7-on-7 drill, breaking up a telegraphed pass by Walter intended for Darren McFadden.

– Kiffin said Carter, who has been at the facility the most with Russell, has developed the best chemistry with the quarterback.

– Russell continues to make minimal errors with a safe, controlled passing game. During one instance Thursday, however, wide receivers Todd Watkins and Walker failed to hold on to medium-depth routes which were too hot to handle.

I wouldn't mind seeing Jason in Silver and Black for a couple years.

May 21: The Miami Herald reports that Taylor, through his agent, has requested a trade. His agent has told the Dolphins that Taylor will not report for training camp unless he is traded. If Taylor isn't traded before the season in September, don't be surprised if he threatens to retire. The Dolphins, meanwhile, can't really do anything about this matter right now other than continue efforts to trade him. More

In my opinion Zach Miller could be the best TE the Raiders have had since Todd Christensen. He has all the tools to be one of the best TE's in the NFL. He's a great blocker and NEVER drops a ball. He could be the key to the Oakland Raiders success on offense this year. Jamarcus and Zach seemed to have developed a chemistry at the end of last year.

Looks like the Raiders have finally cut ties with Stuart Schweigert...
