Tomlinson: The Whine of the Week

After going 14-2 last season, the San Diego Chargers are having a not so great start to the 2007 season. L.T. is already frustrated with the way his Chargers are playing so far and he has some words about it. He is whining about the media, his quarterback and the wellbeing of his team this season.

Whine of the Week: Brett Myers

If you are going to blow a game in the 9th inning, take a little responsibility and accept it with a little dignity and respect. Brett Myers did the exact opposite by referring to the home runs as "pop-ups" and proceeded to tell the reporter that he was a fill-in and knew nothing about baseball. Apparently the reporter could distinguish a home run from a pop-fly which didn't settle well with the reliever.

A Sad Day in the MLS

This is a disappointing and disheartening picture of the L.A. Galaxy fans already turning their backs on David Beckham. On the night of his first goal, the crowd was just over 17,000 and 8,000 of those tickets were said to be given out for free. I feel bad for Beckham, he sacrificed everything in his hometown to come to America where the sport he is passionate about and loves more than anything is not appreciated whatsoever. If Beckham can't bring back the loving spirit for soccer, who can?

2007 NCAA Football Schedule

Someone with too much time on their hands usually makes my day. As usual when this happens, someone pouring hours of personal time into something that I can appreciate for less than 2 minutes is well worth my time. This is a complete excel spreadsheet of the upcoming season. Save it to your desktop because it is definitely worth holding on to.

Why is it Called America's Pastime?

For all of you who don't know or understand why baseball is so popular in the states, he is a quick reminder as to first, why it is called "America's Pastime" and second why it is superior to all other sports in modern society. For anyone surfing tonights TV content, take a second and appreciate a few innings of a baseball game. Take a deeper look than the typical "three strikes and you're out" or a lazy ground-ball to Derek Jeter and a simple throw over to first base. Try to, for just a couple of minutes, appreciate all of the facets and components of a baseball game. Then look into the stands and appreciate all of the fans who know and understand the game and can identify with it. No, you won't see a 6'9" power-forward throw down a reverse dunk, or a 250 pound lineman break someone's neck in a football game, but you will see charisma and precision in every play. To understand is to pay attention and be attentive to each and every scenario that comes about in the 9 innings of America's greatest game.

Pedro Martinez versus Lindsay Lohan

Pedro Martinez faces up against a tough competitor as Lindsay Lohan demonstrates her prowess in a side by side comparison. The "has been clocked at" is the most creative comparison and you can't help but to get a small/brief laugh at.

Sergio Garcia DQ'd For Recording False Score

Sergio Garcia was disqualified from the PGA after recording a 4 when in fact he shot a 5 on the par-4 17th. Instead of attempting to correct his mistake at the scoring tent, he simply took off thinking nothing of it. For as classy as the sport of golf is, that is a very bold and brash attempt at knocking a measly stroke off your round when he wasn't even in contention to take home the trophy.
