I think alot of people, even Kobe himself, would not have imagined a year ago just how tight the Lakers would be tonight at the Season Home Opener. There are some smart people behind the management of that team, and I think the Lakers are the proven favourites to take this season by storm.

Tonight they played fast, under control, and well-focused for a good percentage of the time (except maybe with that throw by Odem to Vujacic, who was still in his warmup suit . That was funny!) and hopefully, if all stays that way, the Lakers will sweep the conference again and take back from the Celtics exactly what the Lakers deserved all along. It's going to be a great season.

Ultimately, they are the best pound-for-pound fighters out there right now, but is Silva versus St. Pierre a plausible fight? Perhaps in the future, giving both fighters time to weigh out their plans, but it's just not going to happen anytime soon. Too bad, though, I'm sure many an MMA fan would kill to see this action live.

Apparently, Affliction's COO Michael D. Cohen has some big news to share with the world, and it's going to change the face of MMA. The cancellation/postponing of the October 11th show was not explained, but he will be giving more detail about this earth-shattering event within two weeks time.

He did, however, confirm that there will be an event in Anaheim sometime in January that Affliction is currently prepping for.
