"Horrendous vs. Pathetic"

Those were the words that Eagles radio announcer (& my WBCB boss) Merrill Reese used to describe the first quarter. Things didn't change much from there. The Eagles did win something today. The Eagles played to the first tie since 2002 in the NFL. Congratulations gang green.

Andy Reid finally wins something

It looks like Andy Reid has finally won something this season. No, it isn't a game against a division opponent. No, it certainly isn't Coach of the Week. No, Andy Reid didn't win Wing Bowl. Andy Reid has won himself the 2008 Worst NFL Coach award according to Foxsports.com's Jason Whitlock.

NFL Week 11 Preview and Predictions

It is Week 11 and I can't think of a crazier year in the NFL. There are more pretenders than contenders in both divisions. It looks like winning teams are being exposed every week when the big boys come to town. Who would have guessed that after 11 weeks, we would only have 1 undefeated team and neither a Brady or a Manning would be at quarterback?

UFC 91a??finally!

This Saturday marks one of the biggest fights in MMA history. The match that UFC fans have been talking about since it was made is just hours upon us. Randy Couture will defend the UFC heavyweight title against Brock Lesnar this Saturday at UFC 91. Can the former WWE world champion make history as the first man to ever hold the WWE and UFC world heavyweight championship?

Captain Charisma coming home?

One of TNA's biggest stars may be on his way out of the company. Rumors are circling that former TNA world champion, Christian Cage will be leaving TNA. Cage's contract is set to expire and he is believed to be close to a return to his former stomping grounds, the World Wrestling Entertainment.

No urgency for Coach Reid

I am still fuming over Sunday night's loss to the Giants. Sometimes I wonder why I even bother as a fan. My first thought is to blame Andy Reid. However, the more I think about it, I can't blame Big Red at all. The more I think about it, the blame should be placed on Jeffrie Lurie, Joe Banner, and the rest of the executive front office.

Jared the Plumber

Minnesota Vikings defensive end Jared Allen weighed in yesterday on Barack Obama's victory. Allen is a self-professed John McCain supporter and now an economist. Joe the Plumber isn't the only one worried about losing all of his hard work to a tax increase. Allen is right there with him and like a plumber, full of sh*t.

Chris Jericho regains the WWE world title at RAW 800

WWE celebrated its 800th episode of RAW last night with a major surprise. Once upon a time it was a big deal for the WWE world title to be defended on RAW. While title defenses are more common, title changes are still rare on RAW. Last night was one of those rare moments on WWE RAW.

Bring on the G-Men!

Is it over yet? Today was one of those games that just never seemed to end. The Eagles avoided a trap-situation, traveled to Seattle, and beat the Seahawks. The Eagles rallied from a 0-7 deficit to go to 5-3 on the 2008 season. The birds crushed the hawks 26-7.

Dead Zone offense continues

The good news today is that the Eagles squeaked another one out to go above .500 for the first time all season. The Eagles defeated the Atlanta Falcons 27-14 in a game that was not in hand until the final minutes. The bad news is that even with the win, the Eagles gained no ground in the NFC East.

A Favre from important phone call

The juicy news on the blogs last week was Bret Favre's conversation with Matt Millen. Fox Sports' Jay Glazer reported that Favre had a conversation with Millen in which he gave Millen tips on how to beat the Packers. Packers fans are enraged, bloggers are enraged, and I can't figure it out. What is really the big deal here?

NFL Week 8 Preview and Predictions

We are finally at the halfway point of the NFL season for most teams. Week 8 is one that normally separates the pretenders from the contenders. Teams will start to get hot now and ride their wave into the playoffs. Teams will slump and cost themselves home field and a possible spot. Week 8 may be the most critical week of the season for making a statement.

To chop or not to chop

The "Nature Boy" Ric Flair ended his legendary career arguably better than any other pro wrestler in the history of the business. Flair went out with a bang. Flair wrestled his last match in front of millions of people against Shawn Michaels. Flair had the most memorable send-off in WWE RAW history. Guess who is thinking about tarnishing it all for some extra cash? Woooo!

Elite XC taps out

The sport of MMA is hot right now. If you are a fighter, there are many opportunities to fight and make decent money. Like anything popular, MMA's popularity will be cyclical. A case in point may be the impending announcement about the end of Elite XC.

Sting beats Samoa Joe for the TNA world title

One of the most beloved wrestlers from the WCW-era is still making his mark in professional wrestling. Just a few months after signing his new contract, Sting challenged Samoa Joe Sunday night at Bound for Glory for the TNA world title. At age 49, Sting ended Joe's reign and won the title. The win did not come without controversy.
