My Thoughts on Team USA, Larry Bird on Kobe

This game is easily one of the greatest games I've ever seen in my life in all of sports. Both of these teams showed the poise to win the game but in the end there can only be one standing. Even though Spain suffered a disappointing loss they should not be ashamed of themselves at all. They demonstrated to the world how its like to play as a team. Even though they loss their still champions in my eyes.

Its obvious that USA has the most talented players in the world along with the best in the world with Kobe Bryant. But talent does not win championships, team work and intelligence does.

USA answered my question down the stretch today when it got tough for them down the stretch:

Who is going to take over the game?

USA has three of the best players in the world. Which are Lebron James, Dwayne Wade, and Kobe Bryant. I felt that these three players were going to have a problem working together when they handle a little of adversity. They proved me wrong. All of the three players knew what was gonna happen if this situation came up. The answer was give the ball to Kobe Bryant. Lebron and Wade understand that when it comes to the biggest moments nobody wants to capture the moment like Kobe does.

They understood Kobe Bryant is obviously the more experienced player with the 3 rings and big games hes played before. I applaud the two (Wade & Lebron) for that. When the game starting to get a little out of hand with a little come back by Spain who else but Kobe Bryant took over the game. He chipped in 13 of his 22 points in the 4th and found the open man for the assist when needed. The biggest dagger was when Kobe hit the and one three pointer to push the lead further from Spain's reach. With Kobe's heroics USA captured the gold from a great team like Spain. He was truly the MVP of the game and showed why hes the best in the world on the biggest stage.

The USA players proved that great talents can play together and win as a team. This team was built to players who were committed on playing team basketball and showing that Americans can win showing respect on and off the court. This team meshed together beautifully and accepted their roles on the team. This is why the 08 Redeem Team is the second greatest team ever assembled behind the 92 Barcelona Dream Team.

My Grade For Team USA: A

They were the team that showed the most hunger, focus, class, and dedication since day 1. That grade goes from the coaching staff down to the players. They beat every team with class while capturing their own fan base in China. Even though the majority are just plain Kobe fans. USA did everything they were supposed to do in the Olympics.

MVP of The Olympics: Dwayne Wade

He proved to everybody that when hes healthy hes one of the best players out there. He is the second most skilled player in the world when healthy. He was the teams leader off the bench and showed why. He shot a high percentage, took smart shots, made the right pass, and showed his ability's on the defense end. Ladies and gentlemen Dwayne Wade is officially back from his injury. I'm very happy to see the young fella succeed.

Biggest Surprise: Chris Bosh

I've been harsh on the kid because I dont feel hes playing at full potential when he really can. He impressed me a lot these Olympics backing up Dwight Howard. I honestly feel that you can argue that Bosh had a better Olympics than Howard. If Bosh were in Howard's body he would be starting for team USA. Bosh posses a better shot from mid range and the free throw line and he has better post moves than Howard. However dont read me wrong. Howard did a good job these Olympics. I still tink hes the best Center in the league but he still has a lot of work to do on his game. Yao Ming would easily be better than Howard if he would learn how to be more aggressive during the game.

Best Help Defender: Lebron James

He did a superb job on locking up the paint with his shot blocking abilities. He played good defense in transition as well as in the half court set. He showed me that he can be a great defensive anchor in this league along with Kevin Garnett despite his length. His incredible athleticism makes up for it.

For those who hate on the best player in the league heres a little something:

Q: Dan Patrick.."Larry which player in the current league could start in the Olympic 92 DREAM TEAM"?

A: Larry Bird "Kobe could start for the 1992 Olympic Dream team, I love watching Kobe Bryant play".

Q: Dan Patrick "Where are you going to put Michael though"

A: Larry Bird "Move him to PF, Kobe can take my spot"

Other stuff he said:

Larry Bird: "Kobe is best in the world"

He will pay to see Kobe playing, and Kobe is the closest player to Jordan in terms of Skills and talents. He respects how Kobe prepares for the games and how hard he works in the off season to improve.

That right there pretty much sums up why I think Kobes head and shoulders above everybody else.

Josh Powell To Sign With Lakers

I'm very excited to see this young man in a Laker uniform. For those of you who dont knw him he played for the Clippers last season. I fell in love with this guy because he was the hardest worker on that Clipper team even when they would be getting blown out. He has lots of heart just like Roni Turiaf. Good replacement in my opinion.

Its really no surprise to me really.

Kobe = Small Forward

"The Lakers are considering moving Bryant to small forward and making frontcourt player Lamar Odom a guard."

Kobe is the most talented player in the game and can play the 3 fairly easy. Then again why would you put Lamar at the 2?

Greatest Of All Time Just Torching Kids (Video)

Mark Jackson was in attendance and said that Michael Jordan is the best player of all time and that Kobe was the best player since Michael but not better.

Michael Jordan was asked who he thought was the best player in the NBA today and he said it was Kobe Bryant.

Michael Jordan was asked who was the best shooter in the NBA and Jordan said it was Ray Allen.

Jordan said he likes to watch Dwight Howard play, however he said that Howard isn't the best Center of the league and that he needs to develop more offensive moves than just dunking.

Jordan said if he were to pick starters for the US team it would be Chris Paul, Kobe Bryant, Lebron James, Kevin Garnett, and Tim Duncan. He said if he couldn't take Tim Duncan he would take Shaq.

Jordan said his favorite team to play for was the North Carolina Tar Heels.

Jordan said his most memorable moment was the 1984 Olympics.

My Thoughts On This Blockbuster Trade (Finally a Article by me)

I just recently heard the breaking news.

Ron Artest is heading to the Houston Rockets for Bobby Jackson and a first round pick.

Well first you have to give credit to the Rockets G.M. Dawson for pulling off this magnificent trade. Hell, this trade is so beautiful that he should be getting a raise in his salary.

Now as for the Maloof brothers you got to be furious if your a Kings or an non Rocket fan at them. I've been hearing for years that this team is in "Rebuilding Mode". Well, I'm tired of hearing this from the Kings front office. Those fans in Sacramento are easily one of the best fans in the league. They have been patient enough with this organization.

Why would you trade for a 35 year old if your in rebuilding mode?

I am honestly disgusted with the Maloof brothers right now. They had their chance to get quality young players for Artest. They could've gotten a player like Lamar Odom with someone like Luke Walton or Vladimir Radmonvic. Instead you take a 35 year old who has NEVER played a full NBA season healthy. Even if Bobby Jackson some how plays the full season healthy he still wont be able to bring the production Lamar Odom can put up.

The Sacramento Kings are the worst team in the league now talent wise. Their gonna make a good coach like Reggie Theus look like nothing when their at the bottom of the NBA. The only quality players they have on this team is Beno Uriuh, Fransisco Garcia, Brad Miller, Miki Moore, Shareef Abdur-Rahim (When healthy), Bobby Jackson (when healthy), and Kevin Martin.

This Kings management has to do something quick if they don't want to be the joke of the league. I have nothing else to say about this organization. I'm done. Their a complete waste of my time. I'm sorry to all loyal King fans.

This trade automatically puts Houston in front of everyone in the league. I dont even think my Lakers match up well against this team. Their starting line up will be looking like this:

C. Yao Ming/ Dikembe Mutombo

PF. Luis Scola/ Carl Laundry

SF. Ron Artest/ Shane Battie

SG. Tracy Mcgrady/ Brent Barry/ Steve Francis (great player when healthy)

PG. Rafer Alston/ Luther Head

Thats an amazing staring line up right there. Look for this Rocket team to be one of the leagues best defenses due to the trade.

Why I pick the Rockets over the Lakers?

Now that the Lakers lost Ronni Turiaf and couldn't sign someone like Kwame Brown to body up on Yao Ming they dont have a good back up big man to compete with this strong Rocket team. Criticize Kwame Brown all you want but one thing you cant take away from him is his defense. He is actually the best defender to match up with Yao Ming that this league has. Second that comes to Brown is Kendrick Perkins.

This is what really hurts the Lakers, The Rockets have the two best one on one defenders in the league. We all know that when it comes to crunch time the Lakers offense goes from the Triangle Offense to the Kobe Bryant offense. Kobe will have to be on the top of his game to beat Ron Artest and Shane Battie on offense. Kobe will probably be to tired to out last both of these defenders. Then again, Who am I to question the best player in the league?

As of right now

Rockets > Lakers.

I did feel this Rocket team was already gonna be in the top 5 in the league when Yao returned because they finally started to click together. Now with Ron Artest their arguably the most stacked team since the 04 "Dream Team" Lakers with Malone, Payton, Kobe, and Shaq.

However the biggest disadvantage that the Rockets have is Ron Artest. Let me explain.

As much as I love this trade for the Rockets they forget how devilish Ron Artest can be. He is not the guy thats gonna bring joy to the locker room. Hes known to be a chemistry killer. Remember Ron Artest was on that very talented Pacer team, playing with players like Jermaine O'Neal, Reggie Miller, and Stephen Jackson. Slowly but surely due to Ron Artest behavior the team went down hill.

What does Ron Artest need?

Its simple really he needs a "Leader". Tracy and Yao aren't those kind of leaders that can change Artest like a Kobe Bryant or Kevin Garnett can. Artest needs someone like those two to be at the top of his game.

If the Rockets can solve that big problem they have in hand they'll be one hell of a team.

Top 3 Teams In The League Talent Wise:

1. Houston Rockets

2. Los Angeles Lakers

3. Boston Celtics

This is the toughest the league has looked since 1998.
