Well, here it is the middle of September and for the first time in a long time, the Yankees are not playing for the playoffs, they are playing for that other p word...Pride. It's kinda weird, you would think being a big time Yankee fan that I would be dissapointed at the way this season has turned out, but im not. I think one of the reasons why, has been watching our young players this year. I gotta tell ya, with some of these kids we have our future looks very good.
Brett Gardner is going to be an absolute star in this league without a doubt in my mind, you can just see it by the way he plays the game, and once his hitting comes together and combines that with his all out hustle he will give pitchers nightmares for years to come.
Phil Hughes didnt have the season we were all hoping for, especially after what we saw at the end of last season, but I am not too worried, because I am telling you right now, when his career is over he will go down as one of the greatest Yankee pitchers of all time.
Joba Chamberlain, we all have seen what he can do, he is going to dominate either as a starter or a reliever, I would say keep him in the pen with Rivera, and when Rivera decides to retire, Joba can take over. Another reason why I am not dissapointed this season is because of
Xavier Nady, he was born to wear the pinstripes, imagine if we had him for the whole year! My only problem with Nady is why do they have him batting so low in the order? I would have him bat 3rd in front of A-Rod, nothing against Abreu, but I feel Nady is a much better hitter. And finally I save the best for last...
Derek Jeter is the greatest ball player I have ever seen in my life, playoffs or no playoffs, he plays every game the same way, every night you will see him do something spectacular and we are so lucky to be able to watch. What do you think?
