When the Giants signed
Barry Bonds in 1993, they needed him. They needed somebody to rejuvenate the franchise after it had been threatened to move across the country to Tampa Bay. They needed a big name to be the face of the franchise for years. 15 years later however, the Giants are at a time where they don't need him anymore. They don't need the baggage & they don't need the headache. Bonds had no where else to turn, no franchise wanted him & while he won't ever admit it, he was at the Giants mercy. The Giants could have brought him back at their terms...and they failed.
