Dominic Rhodes Suspended for 4 Games to Start 2007

Bump LaMont Jordan up a few, a very few, slots on your draft boards. Remember though, that this is the Oakland Raiders, and Jordan only averaged 3.9 yards / carry last year behind what was widely regarded as the worst OL in the NFL.

Expect defenses to continue to stack the line & stop the run until the Raiders can demonstrate any competence with the passing game. I don't forsee and aeral resurgence regardless of whether Walter, McCown, or Russell is under center.

Draft all Raiders at your own risk.

Brady Quinn Might Start If He's In Camp On Time

Sounds like Crennel is ready to give the reins to Brady Quinn.

Getting in to camp on time is a huge if with the way contract negotiations go in the NFL.

From a fantasy perspective I'd avoid all Cleveland players. Things just aren't looking good up there.

Quinn will struggle through his rookie year.

Jamal Lewis is old.

Edwards has shown flashes, but can't stay healthy...

Winslow is supposed to 'break out' every year, but hasn't

If either Anderson or Frye wins the starting QB job you can't be thrilled about the Browns propsects either.

Knock em all down a few notches on your draft board. All the talent in the world won't get you in the end zone without quality teammates.

P.S. Why hasn't Yardbarker added the new crop of NFL rookies to the catagories? Anyone know when this will happen?

Bears Waive Troubled Defensive Tackle Tank Johnson

Yet another sad example of a very talented human being who forfeits a unique privilege (and the spoils that go with it) because he can't keep himself out of trouble.

Pacman's Career Is Done: Brought up on 2 Felony Charges

Bye Bye Pacman.

Looks like the ghosts of your past are catching up with you.

Here's Why Moss Won't Help Patriots & Why You Shouldn't Draft Him in Fantasy Leagues This Summer

Some quotes from the article:

"If you want to get excited about Randy Moss and what he'll bring to the Patriots [team stats] in 2007, here's a bit of advice: Don't watch him practice."

"While ... Tom Brady, Rodney Harrison and Tedy Bruschi continued to exemplify the Patriots Way, Moss moved at his own pace. He rarely dug in. More often than not, he glided. On balance, the most talented receiver of this generation was just another guy"

"You'd have thought Moss would have taken the opportunity to make an early statement, maybe run from drill to drill across the field, lead the sprints at the end of practice, blow by the slower and smaller players trying to cover him, whatever. Show a little hustle. Little things.

But it pretty much was the opposite. Moss was content to remain in the pack. He never was first in line. He certainly didn't make defensive backs look foolish. Aside from climbing the ladder once or twice on high throws, he didn't give any hints of his prodigious physical gifts."

"Moss' former coaches in Oakland believe he lost his legs at some point the past few years. Art Shell laughed at reports of Moss running a sub-4.30 in the 40-yard dash two months ago."

Blatantly Going For Thumb Up Votes Here: Which Female Athletes Would You Do?

I feel just a little dirty for posting this.

Ok,.... I'm over it.

Breaking News: Video: Police Searching for Buried Dog Carcasses on Michael Vick's Virginia Home

Investigators are back on the property in Surry Co. belonging to NFL star Michael Vick, where a Federal search warrant is being executed.

Culpepper Rumored Going To Jacksonville Jaguars

It appeared in the local paper in Jacksonville.

Not sure how much creedence to give it at this point.

It was one of the destinations that popped up in my post on this subject earlier this week:

Here's the clip --

Some places to consider:

- a one year stint in Oakland to JaMarcus Russell for the starting role?

- Atlanta cuts Vick, assuming he gets indicted, and Culpepper gets the nod

- Jacksonville, where neither Garrard, nor Leftwich, is getting it done

- Cleveland's starters in front of Quinn are anything but solid

- The starting QB situation in Tampa Bay isn't great either

Crazy Stat Of The Day: Zito is 89-4 when he receives four runs or more.

Wow.

Anyone have any idea what this number looks like for other pitchers?

If Green Lands in Miami - Culpepper Will Ask For Release and Take Off

Culpepper is apparently now indicating that if Trent Green is signed to be Miami's starting QB, he will ask for his release and seek a starting job elsewhere.

This is particularly interesting given that there are no sure fire starting jobs available.

Then there's always the possibility that a starting QB gets his knee blown out in training camp or the pre-season.

Though there is definintely a non-zero chance that Culpepper blows out his knee out again is before kick-off of 2007 season.

Lot's of speculation here, but isn't speculation what football is all about in June!

Armando Benitez Balks 2wice Tying the Game Then Gives Up Winning Home Run in The 12th - Benitez Should Retire Tomorrow, Apologize to the Fans, and Give The Giants Their Money Back

How bad can a closer be?

This guy is disgusting.

He should tuck his tail between his legs and skulk off into the sunset.

What an embarassing excuse for a pitcher.

Video: Clinton Portis Thinks Dog Fighting is Cool - Vick Should Be Left Alone

When told that dog fighting is a felony, Portis replied, "It can't be too bad of a crime."

It's a good thing he's a hell of an athlete. If left to survive with his brains, he'd be in trouble.

Bengals Chris Henry Is Dumbest Man Alive - Fails Drug Test - Going To Jail for 88 Days

How stupid can you be?

When Goodell suspended him for 8 games, he told Henry point blank that this was his last chance to salvage his NFL career. Failing a drug test for opiates means his playing days could be over.

Gone are his million dollar paychecks. Unbelievable.
