Did anyone watch Tina Fey portraying Sarah Palin on last night's Saturday Night Live? More props to Tina Fey for an almost perfect portrayal of Republican VP Candidate Gov. Sarah Palin. It's humorous if you watched the actual VP Debate last Thursday and watching this parody 2 days later, it's just hilarious! What did you guys think? Did I mention that Queen Latifah was in this skit too? =)

Yup, I watched the Finals, all 3 games and I want to tip my hat off to both the Detriot Shock, the 2008 WNBA Champions, and of course the San Antonio Silver Stars, the Western Conference Champions. I was happy that both teams were able to make it this far (I'm still crushed of course the Mercury & Storm didn't), but dude it's the game of basketball! You just have to love the game, despite of who's winning and losing, just make sure it isn't your team lol. Love both the Silver Stars and Shock (and of course both the Storm and Mercury as always) congrats to both teams that participated in the Finals! I'd like to make a shout out to Diana "Dee" Taurasi, one of my basketball idols, hope you're reading this! lol Tell Sue Bird & LJ (also my basketball idols) I said hi and can't wait to see you guys play in Russia (if they ever televise the games here in Cali), Good Luck and hope to see & meet you next season! Or whenever =) Congrats to Katie Smith (my fav. Detriot player) for winning the Finals, Finals MVP AND A GOLD MEDAL this year!

Lauren Jackson is one of my favorite basketball players ever! I hope she will decide to stay to play in the WNBA despite of what team she chooses to play in (preferably the Storm lol). But for now, I wish you the best of luck Lauren Jackson, get well soon and play well in Russia this off season! Also, good luck to Diana Taurasi and Sue Bird! Go Spartak Moscow Region!

This picture is one of the many pictures I took at my first WNBA game.

Seattle Storm @ Phoenix Mercury
One of the best days of my lives, even though I wasn't able to meet my basketball idols Diana Taurasi, Cappie Pondextor and Sue Bird. Lauren Jackson wasn't there either =(

I know that some of you might not care about what I have to say but here it is anyways:
I'm still crushed that the Storm and Mercury didn't progress in the playoffs like I wanted them to. But then again, I've learned a few things that may help my high school girl's basketball team when the playoffs approaches in February and also realized something else.
I've realized that both the Storm and Mercury were missing their key players, the Storm's Lauren Jackson and the Mercury's Penny Taylor. But I have also realized that both teams did remarkably well despite of the fact that they played without them. I've been a fan of both teams since the WNBA started and dude, I'm still going to be loyal fans of both teams no matter what. I wish my best to those who are still in the playoffs, especially Becky Hammon who has been awesome this season.
I just hope that I'll be able to watch some of the Storm and Mercury players play overseas, probably not with limited women's basketball games being televised (which I think is very sexist), but I'll MOST DEF keep up with them through the internet.
Sue Bird, Lauren Jackson, Diana Taurasi and your teammates, job well done this season! Can't wait for next season!
For those who read this, I appreciate your time in reading this.
If you're wondering, the picture I included was from my first WNBA game in Phoenix. I've always been a fan but was never able to actually attend a WNBA or NBA game because of my dad, who is in the Navy and we moved so much.

P.S.
To Diana Taurasi about the LA Times article, I read that article too! It also (excuse my language) pissed me off!
If you're a true fan of the game of basketball, it shouldn't matter who's playing the game! Whether it's men or women.

When I first heard one of my favorite WNBA players was going to have surgery right after the Olympics, I was like "Oh no! Not Lauren Jackson! She can't be injured!" But then again I know what she's going through right now, with all the ankle pains because I as well have probably the weakest ankles a person could have, another reason why I can't play basketball anymore. But it's better for her to undergo surgery now, have her ankle rested and healed and prepared for the WNBA Playoffs despite of her missing the rest of the regular WNBA season. I'm very optimistic about these type of situations, and optimism is usually the key to everything. Hope you all liked my 1st article! -Val (New Yard Barker Member!)
