It's good to see that Jim Zorn is starting to find a little traction in the front office, but I simply can not agree with a philosophy of just sticking a random ex-Seahawk into a problem area. Laddell Betts has always done a fantastic job of filling in for the OFTEN injured
Clinton Portis. Hell, in 2006 the man rushed for over 1100 yards. Betts was a free agent shortly there after, and instead of taking the money and running, he re-signed a club friendly deal. So when he tweaks a knee and needs a couple of weeks, we bring in SHAUN FREAKING ALEXANDER!?!?!? If you look up the definition of "drop-off" you will see Alexander cited. The man scored 20 fewer touchdowns 1YEAR after signing a $62 million dollar deal!!
Then there is former Seahawk punter
Ryan Plackemeier. Apparently, all you need to do to become the Redskins punter is have a Ray Guy award, then punt a ball 20 yards semi-consistently. This guy was a BUM is Seattle!! WHY OH WHY LORD AM I MISSING DERRICK FROST? And Why have we not had a descent punter since Reggie Roby?
Finally Mike Green, well Mike Green can be summed up by the one award he has won, that I know of. Mr. Irrelevant circa 2000, but anything is better than
Reed Doughty.
I guess the point of this entire rant is Laddell Betts got screwed. Timely contributions and team first attitudes just don't seem to be valued by the Skins front office. Only gaudy numbers and name recognition...two words Jason Taylor.
